Membership Milestones, like 100,000th member, etc
I have noticed that while NPHC organizations will state publicly that they have over ______ initiates, I rarely see a big to-do being made in the form of a press release when that milestone has been reached. (It's possible that no major milestones have been reached since I've been an NPHC member; on the other hand, I am certain that Sigma Gamma Rho has reached 100,000 in the past decade.)
On the other hand, APO makes a pretty big deal of our membership milestones historically, from including them in our 1993 history book, to making a release/blog entry about them via social media.
What do you think about publicly celebrating such milestones?
(This is not a quantity vs quality debate because I presume that everyone tries to only initiate quality people.)
