I hope this isn't out of line...
But I have a question & I hope it's not inappropriate or that it can be answered. when a pnm signs up for registration, do ALL of the sorority women become familiar with the pnm?
Long story short, I signed up on the day registration was opened and I'm taking some upper level courses. I've had loads and loads of sorority women in my classes and they all look at me! Some of them try to discreetly turn around and look but a few have just been plain obvious.
Mind you, the school i'm going to has deferred recruitment.
I didn't smell, have anything on my face or wear weird clothing lol...but I mentioned this to my roommate and her friend and they were like "ohhhh, they're just getting a feel for you and checking you out. Get used to it. it'll be over after 2nd semester"(they aren't in a sorority/fraternity)

Uh.. What?
Becoming familiar or friendly with a PNM is different than staring at her in class.
This just sounds weird.

I think she meant that if you sign up for recruitment, do all the sorority members see the registration. Or at least that is my best interpretation.

Yes, they will all know you have signed up and they will be looking for you. Be your best every day and go where you should be and not where you shouldn't be. They are watching.

Echoing sage-femme Titchou: deferred recruitment can be a semester-long "interview" - in some ways better than walking into recruitment tabula rasa (e.g. in the fall) and in some ways more challenging.
It is also your opportunity to observe (and thus "interview") the various sororities and sorority members on campus.
You've done a lot of work to prepare for recruitment. You've received (in other threads) lots of advice about managing yourself during the fall semester before recruitment. Keep your eyes (and your options) open!

While they're likely watching, after they know who you are, it's very unlikely you'll feel like you're under a microscope. That initial bout of attention was *probably* just to fix you in their minds.

And some people are much more aware of being looked at. Probably the girls aren't gawking at her, but she's noticing girls going out of their way to check her out. I would be completely oblivious!
Having caught it, you can now be aware that your appearance and comportment matters in your every day life and not just during rush.
