Last Minute tips for an SEC recruitment

Hey there!
I have formal recruitment coming up... tomorrow, actually, and still have a few worries. I'm the first in my family to "Go Greek" and I knew that I would need a bunch of recommendations, but did not manage to secure many at all. I was wondering, to what extent will this affect me?
I did come to the school for the summer term and finished with a 4.0, although I am not sure the sororities will know that and I think it's best if I don't bring it up, so I feel like I'm OK with the whole GPA thing. I have been doing some research and have an idea of what to expect, I'm going to do my best to be completely open-minded throughout the whole process.
I would just lovesome last minute tips on how to keep the conversation going and any other small details.

Thanks y'all!

There's nothing you can do at this point about recs or GPA, so don't worry about either. If you search around here, there is a TON of advice on everything from conversation tips to what to stash in your purse.

Treat this like a job interview.

1. Have some things you want to find out about the "job." Ask questions. Be an active listener. Follow up the recruiter's statements with questions about what she just said.

2. Have some things you want the "interviewer" to know about you. What are your selling points or strengths. Know them and don't be afraid to work them into conversation.

3. Have a few conversational topics that can spin off into longer conversations: moving into your student housing, majors, class registration, sign ups for student activities, where to shop in town...

Example: be able to explain why you chose your major. You will be asked your major, don't just answer- say your major and something about why you chose it.

4. Try to relax and smile. Self-confidence is attractive.

5. Be an active listener. Make eye contact. Listen. Follow up conversation cues.

6. Keep your head up. Without recs, your first cuts are probably going to be rough. That's not because there is something wrong with you. You just didn't turn in the paperwork on time. Don't take it personally.
