Colored Denim okay for Skit/Video Day?

I'm a freshmen and rushing in the fall... I've been planning outfits for about two weeks now and am stumped on this. Colored denim will make a statement, but at a university where regular denim is encouraged only for Phase A (Spirit day), I am unsure if such a statement will get me cut. I am planning on wearing the denim with a nice collared, sleeveless blouse (white with gold polkadots) and wedges, so they'l be dressed up.

I go to a Big 10 school in the northern part of the country.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading

If they only recommend denim for spirit day, only wear denim on spirit day. Wear something close to the recommendation for skit or video day.

not sure what the recruitment guide says for your school, but most skit days outfits are skirts or sundresses.

As compared to a Big 10 school in the southern part of the county?

Follow the guidelines, or dress slightly over the guidelines. I know colored denim is back *shudder* but it's always kind of tacky to me. Just my taste, I guess!

Mine too. I am not sure if we are in the same age range or not, but colored denim should be left in the 90s with parachute pants.

On top of all this, most of the colored denim I've seen is in VERY VERY VERY VERY tight cigarette jean form. Unless you're a size -32, that's not always the most attractive (especially in hot weather).

That's a good way of thinking about it - I hadn't realized that. I'm thinking of a nice peplum skirt now. Thanks
