With deferred recruitment, is it best to go to all events invited to?
With deferred recruitment in the south, is it in the pnms best interest to attend all events they are invited to including scheduled events held for the pnms and actives to meet as well as philanthropy events?
I ask because I'm actually completely ignorant regarding the sororities at the school I'll be attending. I've only met a few sorority women through school visits as they were all having cupcake sales and I ended up buying a cupcake from one of the women.
I checked out one of the FB recruitment pages from the past and all of the sororities host individual events and some of them are open to pnms.
I don't want to come across as desperate or anything, but ever since I went to the alumnae panhellenic forum hosted this year I've become SOOOO excited for recruitment! I'm really big on community service and I can't wait to get to know the women and get a better understanding of their philanthropies.
I think that if you're invited, it is wise/polite to go, show that you're interested, and get to know the women. Once you're on campus, you can probably find out what the campus norm is for these events, so that you show interest without going overboard.
Yes, attend any events you can to as many sororities as possible. Make sure you know the rules of engagement so you don't break any. Some schools have weird strict silence rules even when you have classes with sorority women and stuff.
Express interest, don't be hangy-ony. Be nice to everyone and don't let yourself get sucked into gossipy chatter about sorority women. You never know who you're talking to or who's in earshot.
