That was what he said in the beginning when he first made his racist statement. He indicated that it was his father and uncle I think that had him thinking that all black people were no good.

Are we surprised? Look at the parents when looking at the actions of the son. I knew Mike had to be tame compared to his parents so there was no surprise for me.

Mike's father was trippin' ! I couldn't believe what he was saying. Mike and the other guy should have immediately tried to correct him. He was basically blaming Black people for the failure of the entire Cleveland public school system. It was sad for me to see that there are still people out there that are willing to make ridiculous, unsubstantiated claims about individuals they have little to no contact with. The worst part was, he wasn't even ashamed! It made me so mad !

I caught the show like half-way through it so I'm glad I missed what Mike's Dad was saying (or this post would have a different tone to it...)

I agree...I always thought Coral had been a bit (just a bit) too hard on Mike in the first place...I believe this trip has changed Mike's life and he's taking "baby steps" towards being a more tolerant and open-minded individual...Maybe in like a year or two he will go home and when one of his realtives--or even his Dad--says a racist remark he will take a stand against it.

As for Nicole...I used to like her b/c she appeared to be cool--but as we all know looks can be deceiving...

I wasn't surprised by how ignorant Mike's father was...Mike expressed his father's opinions in the first show. I just wanted to know what his father felt about there being Black roommates.
Also, why is Nicole still mad at Malik?? She is making herself look REAL silly and young. She cries about how she's trying to change...but, I'm not convinced.
FYI, MTV will be showing a Real World 2 relay...showing all the episodes thus far. This will air on Saturday, I think starting at 12 noon.

I wasn't surprised about what Mike's father said. But, what I applaud is Mike recognition of what was wrong with what his father said. I am really glad that he is using this experience to grow as a person.

Now, speaking of growing as a person, Nicole needs to take a cue from Mike. She looked extremely childish laying in the bed while Malik was out celebrating his birthday.

Malik finally meeting his father's side of the family was so touching. I love how his Grandma Ruby just embraced him into the family. I think everyone needs one of the loving and wise Black Grandmothers that can give you love, food and good advice.

Now that Malik knows his family, maybe he can finally get someone to braid his hair. Lord knows that those braids that Coral did were a HOT MESS!!! They were crooked and puffy. What was she doing?

I just finished watching the episode that aired this past Tuesday! Laaaaaawd, Rachel makes me laugh! I can't believe she RATTED them out! That was so funny to me ! But, why didn't they do similar posters or whatever for Malik & Kevin??...I mean, they keep saying "the boys are kiss @SSes"...Mike isn't the only one...I had to laugh too when Lori said she didn't want to touch his semen-soaked bed !

And, that doorman guy. He was cute, but if I was his "practically" fiance, his @$$ would be GRASS when I saw that episode of him flirting with Lori !

And, as far as Miss IMMATURE NICHOLE, that girl best to have kept up with the massive make-up job...b/c if she showed up without it one day they probably would've called the PO-PO on her @$$, as a d@mn intruder! I mean, what's with the eye make-up? Who showed her how to do that, first of all? And, then, who told her that was cute? That's a disgrace to M.A.C. counters EVERYWHERE!

Anyway, I want somebody to bust out Nicole for being such a "Bia-Bia" (Push'em up, why you acting like a...). Nicole looks so immature still being mad at Malik, esp. when the brother did nothing wrong (I WISH somebody would tell me I'm not a "Sister" anymore...). She's just mad b/c Malik does not want to date a woman that looks like a clown!!! I am SO funny (only to myself)...LOL. Anyway, She really needs to GROW UP...And her sitting there and crying had no effect except LAUGHTER on me (LMAO--that's not cruel, is it???). Also, Rachel needs to be checked for being two-faced and acting as if she is totally innocent and pure, when she's a backstabber...you know she didn't say Nicole or Coral's name. She is always following Coral and Nicole, dishing out attitude---WHY---I do not know, but when one of them dishes it out to her, she can't seem to take it... They all pick on Mike b/c they have nothing else better to do (they need to find themselves some men and get their mack on--youknowhatimean!!! Seems like it's been a bit too long)...Lori didn't even care that Mike was mad at her--cuz she don't love them h%#$--naw, I'm just playing, but for real----why does Mike seem to hit almost anything that walks...he's going to wake up one morning like Amaya did from the Hawaii episode...

I don't know what's up with some of these folks, but Nicole is a nutcase for being so immature because Malik prefers to date white girls. I'm glad Malik didn't stoop as low as she did. She cried crocodile tears b/c she couldn't put her differences with Malik aside for his b'day. Give me a break!!! Coral needs to go to a braid shop in Harlem so they can show her how it's done. Malik's hair looked really crappy. I could've done a much better job than that, for real for real!!! Rachel is a kiss @$$ because she's the lone virgin in the group and she needs macking tips. But what I really wanna know is: WHO TOLD LORI SHE COULD SING? She's okay, but she's not that great, if you ask me. My last comment is that Mike has really come a long way from what he used to be. I hope he continues to grow as a person and remains friends with Malik after they leave the house. I'm kinda glad that his parents are divorced because his dad's a real butthead for his stupid comments about Black people. But hey, that's life and people for you.
