Smile Hello! New and Needing help! :D (Mother/Daughter sorority)

Hello all, I am Nichole, a mom to one magnificant little girl! And I am going to start a Mother/Daughter sorority with only TWO members! Her and I! She si going to love this, and it will give up the well needed time to bond, and do girl things together. Own oown little personal club. I'm thinking about Pi Delta Alpha as the lettering, but I can use all the help I can get in learning all the ropes to make this both fun and educational. My biggest problem thus far has been, WHERE to get merchandise in VERY small quantities, with OUR letters, that don't cost an arm and a leg? I'm sure there are experts among you that can help in this area!

Thank you so much!

By the way, there already is a Pi Delta Alpha.

You can get stuff on any greek merchandise website with whatever letters you choose at a reasonable cost. Do a google search.

And I will second the "oh my."

Eh, if some greek letters on a t-shirt make her feel closer to her daughter, whatever. I can think of worse things one could do with greek letters.

Probably the same reason women do this:

Yes, because I know it's something she will enjoy! The same reason people think it's stupid to have sororities to begin with, and you all love them?? The same reasons moms get down and play baby dolls, barbies, tag and get mani-pedis with their daughters. The bonding that can occur, the time spent together, her feeling like the both of us are a part of something "together". Not sure what all the shock is about.. lol! it's a little funny.. It's odd to you for me to feel closer to MY blood daughter by doing something together, but not strange at all for you all to feel close to your "pretend" sisters, by doing the same thing! HA! wow! Maybe you all are too young to have children, so you don't understand! lol! But you will one day! Thank you to the ONE person who was "slightly" helpful! HA! WOW, that was a venture.. off to find a much more mature group of "sorority girls" lol! (ps: not to be mean, but you all really shouldn't support people's general belief that sorority girls are air headed and shallow with rude replies like some of the ones above! .. just sayin'.. )

Lady, the vast majority of us are alumnae of our organizations. I'm a 31 year old mother of 3, thanks. See what happens when you stereotype?

Oh, and somehow, I manage to bond with my daughter just fine doing stuff we both like without creating a fake sorority for just us two. There is nothing stronger than a bond between a mother and child, and I don't need to create a club for her to enjoy our time together. You have to understand where we come from. What you come here asking us about is kind of insulting. What you propose to do with your daughter is not what greek life is all about. Is it a small part of it? Sure, in some campus cultures. But we are not just clubs of women who like to get together for mani-pedi dates and to talk about cute boys.

Now, back to watching Jurassic Park and playing with dinosaurs.

Hey, y'all, I'm going to say something insulting, but don't be insulted because I said not to be. Bless your heart.

For the record, I have a 5 and 7 year old, so I "get it", but I didn't ever say that I didn't think that the idea was ridiculous...just not the worst thing I could think of to do with Greek letters.

And mature? Please, pot, meet kettle.

Oh, I don't think anyone was being intentionally rude, but maybe surprised? There are a lot of mothers who come to this site seeking advice, but it is usually those with girls who have reached recruitment age and are preparing to go through it.

As said by Alpha Frog, if this makes you feel closer to your daughter, no harm done. And IrishLake suggested you do a Google search for clothing. Just search Greek Wear and you'll hit several options.

It's different from your situation, but about 15 women and I have started our own little sorority for fun. Fall 2011, we all watched our first-born's go away to college. It was tough, so we started a support group. Granted, support is usually rendered by going out for margaritas after the kids return to school after a break, but we also get together and make care packages during exams.

We named ourselves the Alpha Tau Mu's, for "Always Their Moms". For short, we call ourselves the most appropriate "ATM's."

Just curious, but why Pi Delta Alpha?

She came out of your vagina. Isn't that bonding enough?
