Cool Ghost Stories

A friend of me, living in Hong Kong, send me that email :

"Hi I thought I would get it off my chest again... Every time I rehash the incidence, invariably I feel a cold chill down my spine.

This happened about twenty years ago. At my parents place in Tin Hau where we all lived. As a typical high school student in HK, I would stay up late studying til the wee hours of the morning. I was sitting on my bed reading and was facing the door, which opened to a dark hall way. From where I was sitting I could see my parents bedroom door and the wall of the hall way. Both my bedroom door and my parents bedroom door were open, despite the fact that they were asleep. My desk lamp was the only light on and I was awake sitting in utter silence. All of a sudden out of reflex, or out of some unknown reason, I looked up from my book, I noticed something moving - it looked as if it was a shadow cast on the wall in the hall way but on closer look, it was dense and it was a real object as opposed to a shadow! It appeared to be a black cape or a curtain sliding across the wall in the hall way! I was petrified, I just sat there totally frozen, not knowing how to make sense out of it. It really looked like someone was wearing a long black cape and had just entered my parents bedroom. Five minutes went by and nothing else happened. I gathered my courage, got out of bed and walked towards my parents bedroom, took a peek into their door, which was still pitch black at this time, and realized my parents were fast asleep and there was no sign one of them had just gotten up. I walked further down the hall to go to the bathroom, as soon as I got to the doorway, before I had a chance to turn on the light, I heard this human like noise, a noise uttered right next to me out of the darkness, it sounded like "Huh!", a noise that someone makes when he is startled or scared, or when someone is blowing moist air on to his glasses to wipe them clean. Subsequently I felt this moist foul air/wind blowing past me and went into the general direction of my parents bedroom. I didn't wind up going to the bathroom that night, somehow I didn't want to/have to and I tried to block the whole thing out. Guess what, the next day, my mom said she saw me standing next to her bed watching her for a long time... isn't that freaky or what? My parents still live there but I don't anymore..."

he swears to God this is true...

i'm sceptical...

my first and only encounter with a ghost (or something) happened when i was in high school in england. i was a boarder and stayed in a dorm at school. i was working very late one night on an assignment (yes there's lights-out rule, but no one cares. besides it's an american school in england, so rules are not as strict.), i heard a baby girl crying outside. i didn't pay much attention to it until i realize it's not quite likely to have kids outside around 2:00AM. i looked out and found no one, but the crying persisted for several minutes. the next day i talked to one of the janitors, and he told me that the school used to be a monastery for nuns. in the 1920's or 30's, one of the nuns got pregnant and later committed suicide in the pond located within the school's premises. her ghost has been manifesting itself in several ways ever since. one of the ways is the crying of a baby girl (believed to be her unborn baby) at around 1 or 2AM when the moon is waxing half (believed to be the phase of the moon on the day the nun died) in the school cafeteria. the location and time seem to agree from my experience.
