How ironic it is that on 20 January 2012, the same day the movie 'Red Tails' opened in theaters across America, Omega Brother (Lt. Col) Luke Weathers Jr. was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross during his service as a bomber escort in North Africa, Germany and Italy.

Although 'Red Tails' is a fictionalized account of the story of the Tuskegee airmen, it is reflected in the real life accounts of the bravery and skill of these men, many of whom were Brothers of Omega Psi Phi like Bro. Weathers, who single-handedly engaged a group of eight German Messerschmitts to draw them away from a damaged American bomber, shooting down two of them in the process and at other times eluding German fighters with his superior airmanship. We salute them!
