Baton Rouge, LA members of Order of Eastern Stars
Greetings!
I do apologize if this topic is in the wrong discussion forum or is inappropriate for this site but I feel as if this is my last resort. I tried looking up this topic on this site but for some reason my search query isn't working properly. I posted this same topic in the "Locals" thread so please bare with me.
I recently moved to Baton Rouge, LA and I am interested in joining the Order of Eastern Star. I haven't been able to express my interest to an active member because I haven't come across any Eastern Stars or at least not to my knowledge. I don't think/feel that it would be appropriate for me to just start asking woman if they are affiliated but I have heard "in order to be one, you must know one" so I am beginning to feel hopeless in my quest. I am unaware of any open events to the public that I may be able to attend so that I could meet some of the women, help with community service projects/fundraising, and get some guidance on how to go about petitioning. I am interested in furthering my knowledge and I would really appreciate any help, advice, and or info that is given. I refuse to give up because I know the things that are most challenging in life are usually the things that give us the most reward in the end so I will press forward and hopefully, someone will be willing to guide me in the right direction. Once again, I do apologize if this post offends anyone but understand that I am only asking for info that can help me connect with a chapter in Baton Rouge, LA or meet a member in Baton Rouge, LA so that I will have an opportunity to bond with some members.
