IFC President Nomination
I was recently nominated for the IFC Presidents position at my university. I have held several presidency's in the past including my own fraternity and president of the board of directors for my school. I am strongly interested in this position mainly because I want to make a large impact on greek life at my school. We want to expand the greek population and gain the interest of the more than 30,000 students at the university but we are currently preaching to a population of less than 1,000. We also want to reform relationships between greek councils and the university.
I was wondering if anyone had any further ideas about how to improve greek life at a major university to gain the interest of more students. And also what qualities you may look for in a president of a university greek council. And lastly, any all greek events you may be able to share with me to present to the council to promote more interaction between councils and chapters.
Personally, joining greek life was probably one of the best decisions of my life and I want to share the same experiences with other students and gain more participation. I have noticed many people have a negative outlook on the greek community thinking all we do is party, but the bonding experiences and the friendships you make for the rest of your life is what draws us together. I really want to know how to reach out to more people and show them the "light".
Thank you for any comments you may share.
