Colors

For those of you who are married or are engaged, how did you choose your wedding day colors? How did you match it up w/ your attendants attires to your decorations (including flowers).

My colors were lavendar and platinum. Purple is my favorite so I knew I wanted a shade of it as a part of my wedding. I chose lavendar because the flower and the scent is used to provide a serene environment. Platinum was just a wonderful accent. My maids of honor wore platinum dresses and the men wore platinum ties. Their flowers and my centerpieces were roses that were just about the color of lavendar. I didn't have any church decorations but if you want to do that, go to a fabric store.

If you like platinum, you can get sterling roses..if it is in your budget. If you have any other questions e-mail me :-)

black and gold

My hubbie and I chose black and gold for several reasons.

-our wedding had many Egyptian and other African influences and aacents
-I wanted my dress to be accented in gold (of course wore white
-my hubbie looks best in black

As I stated, my dress was white w/ gold accents; his suit was black w/ gold accents. His best man and my dad wore black tuxes w/ cumberbunds made out of the same fabric as my hubbie's suit. My maid-of-honor wore a black and gold dress.

Our flowers were white, the ballons and other decorations were black/white/gold and the cake was white and gold. Our 'broom' was wrapped in the same material as his tux, too. Our wedding album is black and gold.

The color combination was PERFECT!

My wedding was kinda big. I had 9 bridesmaids and 9 groomesmen, 2 flower girls, a ring bearer and a bell ringer just to name the immediate people. My wedding was in the summer of 2001 so I chose light colors. My colors were Champagne and Rose. The Rose was a pink. Those colors worked well together.Pink is one of my favorite colors and I tried to come up with another color that would accentuate it. My bridesmaids wore Rose and my maid of honor wore the same dress but it was Champagne. The groomesmen and best man all had on black Tux's with Champagne vests and ties. The flower girls had white dresses with Rose colored accent. It all looked very lovely. I was very pleased at how the colors looked together and how nice the wedding party looked. The flowers were also done in these colors as well as the decorations for the reception. My wedding occurred virtually drama free. We all had a wonderful time.
