horseshoe

Did your chapter ever get the horseshoe plaque that nationals gave out awhile back? Its pretty nice plaque, and its a symbol of our history. Its displayed in the same room our charter is displayed.

I think we have one somewhere...though it would have been given to our predecessors on campus here. A couple of the brothers have boxes and boxes of stuff we retreived from Nationals...so maybe it's in there.

Yes, 2 i think at one point in time, as well as a lodge where they did all their partying...was sweet. The lodge is still kinda there, in a building owned by one of our prominent alumni in town. I've been up there, and it's kinda torn up (the alumni is finally remodeling it i think), but most of the stuff is still there and visible.

Well, he's a lawyer, and it's currently a floor above his offices. He's talkin to us about renting a vacant building though that he might turn into apartments and stuff for us though...so we're kinda hopeful about that.

Yeah, though i doubt we'll have it by then. All the guys are stuck in leases or housing contracts till summer, so if we do we'll all move in between may and august.

Yeah, i suppose, though we did do about 3 times better last year with spring rush (of course, we didn't have to pledge and buckwheat was there helpin). Either way it works out though, we've still got the members to be able to wait till we get a house...we're at 28 actives and 8 pledges now, and most of those (all but i think 5) are sophmores or freshmen.

That's what we were shootin for...around 50. If/when we get that we'll be the 3rd or 4th largest on campus here. As it stands, after the first initiation (30 guys) last semester we're larger than most...lol i think that's the biggest reason the smaller fraternities are scared of what we can do.

Oh of course! It's tradition on this campus...we were the first national social fraternity, and have been one of the largest...pike has always been bigger though after they got on campus...i think their membership is like 125 actives now, and we're not wanting to go that big yet.

Yah the entire group would not be that close witht hat many members. The smaller groups hangout togther and get along better in most cases.
