The *worst* concert I ever went to was Milli Vanilli...it also falls under the category "Concert I am most embarrassed to admit I attended" ....which also includes MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice (the later years).

Other than that, Christina Aguhoweveryouspell it, and the first time I saw No Doubt - bc it was hot and humid and I think they were in a hurry to get on with it.

How could I forget ROD STEWART!...I was surrounded by women who were 40 yrs old +....and yes they threw bras

I saw Color Me Bad in concert when I was 10 years old. It was right after that Tick-Tock Sex You Up song came out. They were on tour with Paula Abdul and I was a huge fan of hers (she was cool at the time, ok??? ). So, I had to sit through this awful Color Me Bad set. They couldn't dance nor sing. I was with my dad who is probably one of the most conservative people I've ever met. The Tick-Tock song came on and my father looked at me and said, "This is extremely inappropriate, don't you think?" These teenage girls who were seated next to us started laughing and said, "I don't even think she knows what it means yet." I did....I learned about it through my friends of course. My father asked me if I knew what it meant and I was like, "No daddy!" I stood there shocked and embarrassed for the rest of Color Me Bad's set.

Hmmm, never been to a concert where the music was bad, but the worst concert I've been to was probably Sting at the PNC bank arts center a couple years back. The band was great, and he sounded great, but just by his motions and general attitude on stage it was like, "ya, i know i've done this a million times before and I'm good, and even if I suck, you are still going to clap for me, so I won't be enthusiastic." Now, i stayed, because Manu Katche is a badass drummer and I was having a good time, but that's the last concert I'll ever see from Sting, unless Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers are on stage with him/

Santana, in Birmingham in the seventies. He turned his back on the crowd and jammed the whole time--I don't think he played any real songs. People around us were smoking horrendously stinky cigars. The bathroom line was a mile long. And my stupid date kept standing on his chair and going, "Wooo! Woooo!" at inappropriate times.

Counting Crows. I loved them a few years ago--went to a show and could not believe how bad they sucked, they stumbled arounf the stage liked they were drunk/high and adam duritz wasn't even singing in time to the music. It was awful. So the following year, I went to another Counting Crows show because I thouhgt they had to be having an off night--nope, they were bad the second time too--not as bad, but not good at all.

The opening act for They Might Be Giants was terrible.

This band was called The Incredible Moses Leroy. They had really simplistic music (same guitar chord over and over) set to strange video. Had I known they were opening, I'd have shown up MUCH later.

Guns n Roses in the early 90s. They were like 2 hours late and played at around midnight. By the time they played, I was half asleep and the sound was horrible. This was at Madison Square Garden. Plus I had horrible seat, we were behind the stage, so I get to see the drummers back the whole night. Soundgarden opened up and they blem GnR away.

Hmm. There have been a few but I think that Boy George and Culture Club takes it. Their opening act was an 80s cover band and rocked but he sucked! Thank god the tickets were free.

Sidebar, I love Dave Matthews but his show in Detroit (first one) this year sucked.

A local ska-core band, called "The Skullcaps" - these clowns were terrible, and they opened for some real solid bands (reel big fish, let's go bowling, less than jake, mu330, etc) . . . a sample:

"We are the future - oi oi oi oi"

Wow those jackasses sucked.

I love Chicago with all my heart, I really do, but they have had some HORRIBLE opening acts.

The worst was this band called the Triplets - remember them anyone? They were a Wilson Phillips/Bangles knockoff with one hit. The sisters I went with didn't tell me they were the opener because they were afraid I'd nix the whole concert. The other one was Little River Band. Good back in their day, probably, but by the time I saw them they were definitely "phoning it in"!!!
