I'm not really liking the waiting period... ): my rush starts this Friday and I have a boat load of questions and the waiting just doesn't help!

I do have my sights set loosely on two sororities but they're complete opposites of each other and I really don't know...I will by Monday evening!

Alpha Delta Pi and Alpha Gamma Delta, but I'm not getting my hopes up for either. I'm just going in with an open mind and rate it after I meet them all.

Welcome to GreekChat, both of you. A few words of advice:

peacelovegreek: NPC sorority recruitment is very different from NIC fraternity rush, which is what it appears luismi2011 went through. You'll find lots of great information here about navigating NPC recruitment. But paying attention to NIC rush info may not only be irrelevant, it may be counter-productive.

luismi2011: There's a generally agreed-upon rule at GreekChat -- we never talk about which GLOs or chapters are "top" or "bottom" or anything in between nationally or on any given campus. We just don't do rankings, unless they are very objective -- number of members, number of chapters, etc.

Again, welcome!

welcome to greeklife. since you are a newbie, we may cut you some slack, but you need to realize that sororities and fraternities vary from campus to campus. the chapters that are top dog on one campus, may be the polar opposite at the next nearest campus-if they even have a chapter there.

besides that, everyone will not click with the "top" groups, nor will those groups be the ones that every pnm sets his/her sights on. Then too, the "top" groups can only take "X" number of new members-if all pnms had blinders on and were going for those groups only, there would be more disappointed pnms than happy ones.

don't get me wrong, ADPi and AGD are both terrific sororities. They offer wonderful membership for a lifetime, sisterhood, support, volunteer and social opportunities. They have worthy philanthropies. So do the other 24 NPC sororities, as do the NPHC and Multi-cultural greek organizations.
