Is this a Good Gift?

So tonight I got my guy his Christmas/Hannukah gift- we've been "together" coming up on 2 months (but we've been very close friends for 3 years now), so it couldn't be anything TOO personal, but he still means a lot to me (and he loves me too, he just doesn't know it yet) and I didn't want to go the gift certificate route. Soooo.... I got him two autographed photographs, one is a team photo of the 1969 Mets and the other is a photo of Shea Stadium being rushed when the Mets won the Series that year- I was planning on framing them together.

Guys, what do you think? I HATE impersonal gifts- I usually make meaningful gifts for friends and family and will NEVER EVER buy a gift certificate or something equally impersonal. If your girlfriend gave you this, would you be happy?

p.s. He LOVES the Mets. To the point of obsession.

If he loves the mets that much, I guarantee he will like your gifts

sounds absolutely fabulous. i bet this guy will quietly brag to his buddies, "DUDE! look what she got me! The '69 Mets!" I predict that you're about to win some serious brownie points with his crew.

One tiny note of caution though - autographed photos from that long ago are probably a little pricey. Sometimes if guys get a $$$$ gift, they freak out because they equate spending a lot of money with serious serious serious committment. If he seems hesistant, and seems to suggest that "it's just too much" you might want to downplay the expense/difficulty in finding them.

Basically let him think the whole thing was effortless - don't want to freak him out with a too serious gift, plus he'll think that you are just naturally perfect.

wow thats sounds like a great gift, and I know something like that had to cost you someserious bank. Anyway, I am sure he will like the gift. My guy friends better and will appreciate the "gift certificate route" . I mean really I love my friends dearly, but they are usualy the people, you ask what do you want for the holidays Trply : "Oh I don't know, anything ",lol thats hard to shop for . Guys are soo hard to shop for :P

I think that's a really awesome gift. It shows you put a lot of effort into it. It's a nice gift but not overly lovey dovey. I think he'll really appreciate your gift since he's a serious Mets fan.
