A new sorority is colonizing on campus here this semester and I find it really interesting. I'm already in a sorority here, but of course our whole Panhellenic community has been thrilled to be expanding. Anyways, my question basically is what can a sorority do/not do until they officially get their charter and like what rules to they need to abide by?
To generalize -
University - same rules that govern any other student group. Panhellenic will handle recruitment regulations, I'm sure.
GLO - basically same as a fully chartered group, with some additional oversight because of their colony status.

Panhellenically speaking that depends on your PH's bylaws. most likely they will be an associate member with no vote but a voice. You'd have to check yours to know.
On campus, they can participate in other groups' functions where invited. They can have mixers, philanthropy events, etc like anyone else. They of course could be doing COB if they are under total and they want to add to the colony.
within their own GLO, that will depend. Am sure we are all similar but have various limitations.
