Lightbulb Questions, questions, questions!

I admit it, I haven't been trying to keep our Forum fun lately. It's been a very weird two years, and is only going to get stranger in the next few months - especially as my work computer doesn't like GC and I have a lot more responsibilities. So, with that in mind, I want to ask a few questions:

a) I try to recognize everyone's birthday. Sometimes, I don't have the time to check it (they're all listed on the bottom of the page that has all the forums on it). Should I still keep trying to do this? Is there anyone else who wants to pick it up should I drop the ball? I really don't like the idea of wishing one sister a happy birthday and not another! Also, if we do continue this tradition, could I please remind you that, whether or not you know the sister being wished a happy birthday, she IS your sister, and it wouldn't kill you to post a quick Happy Birthday! when you see it.

d) Do y'all like the games we used to play, or have any ideas for others? These can be played by ANYONE on GreekChat, as long as they're not rude or crude. Would you all like to see them return?

p) Candle Passes: does everyone know that we used to hold them here? Would you like them to return (when appropriate)? If so, PM me, and I'll get it started. We have a candle .gif and everything!

i) Ideas: what would you like to see to spice up the Forum? I've mentioned birthdays and games, but maybe you have other ideas from another message board. So... suggestions?

Feel free to speak out, but let's remember that EVERYONE on GreekChat can read anything on our Forum. So... no ritual or other double secret information, please! If anything inappropriate IS posted, ask me to delete it, and bump up enough old threads to "hide" the problem post(s) until I can delete it. I'm not sure if texas*princess is around or not, but you can also try her.

Hope to see some posts soon!

I love the idea of having a GC candle pass!

*crash! too late, Honey - you are too late. I already know all about the cat suits and the Violet Volcano and the whole Hawaii deal, and some other stuff too. Ponies? Rainbows? Sequins? I forget what all just now but I have ways of remembering (i.e. ask my friends). I bet you are sorry now that you didn't come to Convention in Phoenix. You could have offed a whole mess of non-ADPi GCers with one trip and regained the secrets. Oh well. Too bad, so sad.

A lot of us have "aged" since we joined GC oh so many moons ago, i.e. we don't have as much time to devote to the internet with our new and different responsibilities. Or, like me, I choose to frequent other web sites of interest, that pertain more to my current life priority as a mom rather than my "back-burner" sorority alumnae role.
I like the idea of being recognized for birthdays, and candle passes as well, but if you are stressing over it Honey, than it is for sure one of the first things that needs to go to help yourself become more relaxed.

Well, I don't know if other Forums do it or not, and we really don't have a problem with women of other GLOs (who are not rude) participating in our "non-ritual".

It starts when whomever has become lavaliered, engaged, married, or is expecting sends me a PM to start the Candle Pass, I announce it, post our candle, and post part of an appropriate song, along with the round (so that it doesn't last more than a few days). Others are encouraged to copy the candle, post more song lyrics, etc. I announce each round (to keep it moving). When the appropriate round comes, the sister for whom the Candle Pass is being held "blows" it out, then we all congratulate her.

Here's our candle, just copy & paste it, no img needed:

If I left anything out, please let me know!

Thanks for the lesson! And the only thing I "know" about ADPi secrets is I was told once that their MS was the most similar to ours, which is different than most. I don't know that to be true, and since I can't share ours with you, that cannot be confirmed. And so we are at a standoff. HA!
