The Counte of Monte Cristo

Based on the book by Dumas (author of Three Musketeers and a relative of Tigergirl).

Basic premise: Man is betrayed by his friend out of jealousy for his beautiful Fiancee and placed in a French Prison for years(he's innocent). He comes out and becomes "the Count of Monte Cristo" and plots revenge on the people that stole his life.

Hurtful thing: His Fiancee marries his best friend (the one that had him falsely put away) after only . . . drum roll please . . . 1 month! Faithless bitch . . .

Great scene/line: Years later when he resurfaces in their lives, he does a service for her son (no one recognizes him after 13 years in prison) and she says: "Sir for what you have done I will never forget you" You can also tell by her expression that she kind of recognizes him but isn't quite able to place it right away. He replies: "Madam, it was nothing, in a month you will not remember it or me". Great line. I am paraphrasing though .. .

Anyway they did a really good job with the movie, its very entertaining. Go see it.

You know, a guy friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go and see this movie with him. Unfortunately I said no. Guess I should have gone! Sounds good!

Cool

I saw the same movie in 8th Grade with Richard Chamberlain. The 1970's version was pretty good too.

On another note, I might get to see Guy Pearce IN REAL LIFE!! He was the star of "Memento" and he is in "Count of Monte Cristo" [he plays the bad guy]) He is in a play here in Melbourne called "Sweet Bird of Youth"

Mmmmm.....

ok all, sorry so late, but i had to respond to this ...... I just saw this movie last nite, finaly, and i must say it is awesome, the scenes were very good and the movie had a constant flow, and was far from predictable! I mean Guy Pierce was just awesome!! I mean it's kinda odd though just for the fact that a ton of movies are coming out with a similar base. Like the Brotherhood of the wolves and the Queen of the Damn and some other similar movies :-D That I just loooove!!!!
Anyways Thats my two cents
