Not sure if this is right..?

Hi everyone :]
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but I checked and wasn't totally sure where to put it. Anyway quick question, does the Boston area have a local alumnae council? I can't seem to find one so I'm not totally sure how one goes about finding recs if they do not end up getting all of them from outside sources? I still have a lot of time and I'm asking people I know first, but I'm just curious.
Thanks!

Yes panhellenic, and no I have an entire year before recruitment I have just completed my junior year of high school. Sorry if I sound totally clueless nobody in my family has ever participated in greek life so I don't know much about it, but what I do know is that all of the schools I'm applying to have very competitive recruitments.

Am I off my rocker, or can you google "Boston Panhellenic" and get a list of advisors throughout the country, including Boston?

http://www.npcwomen.org/alumnae-panh.../advisors.aspx Look for Boston.

But your best bet is women you know. Teachers, school counselors, employers, SS teachers, camp counselors, parents of your friends, friends of your parents, etc. Any adult. And she does not have to have attended the school you are attending. Any alum from any chapter will suffice. Make a list of the chapters at the schools to which you are applying. Start asking around. And when you find an XYZ, ask her if she can help with the others. Greek women often know other Greek women. For example, I went to Alabama where there will be 17 NPC groups come this fall. I can get you a rec for all 17 of those groups. And then a couple of more. NETWORK!

Also, since you are a rising senior, continue to concentrate on your grades. A good GPA is a must. Also, consider leadership positions in your activities and/or volunteer work. Resume building activities don't have to be academicly related or school activities, community or church volunteer work is also demonstrative of involvement and committment.

Good luck and enjoy your senior year in high school.

I know it pretty much disappeared around 2005. I moved out of the area, so I am not sure if anyone started it up again.
