What is your favorite Greek memory??
Hey guys! Please don't write any secret rituals or anything that should be kept private, and which would disrespect your organization's ideals and morals But anyway, what is your fave Greek memory? w/ a Big Sis/Bro, w/ your pledge class, etc.?
Mine was Bid Day--it was just a day filled w/fun, laughter, and just total happiness. I just knew that I had made the perfect choice choosing Theta. At bid Day, i felt instantly connected with my new sisters, esp. my pledge class. The sleepover afterward was a blast too. I just had so much fun, listening to others' stories about high school adn telling some of my own. We also rented a few videos and played w/makeup LOL...
I also will always remember how my sisters were (and are) always there for me whenever I have one of those horrible nervous breakdoowns when it seems like nothing is going right in my world...or when I'm elated, mad, confused...basically they are there for me 24/7!
I’ve accumulated so many countless memories ever since Bid Day almost two years ago...I could go on and on, but I won't Please share some of your stories! I'm sick right now so I can use all the warm-n-fuzzy stories

sammie17,
I have had so many great memories of being in my sorority but I think my most favorite one is when I received my bid. My biological sister, who is also my sorority sister, was a Rho Chi that year. She thought that I was going to go ADPi, hands down, and she was totally freaking out about it. However, I knew all along that I was going to go Zeta, even though I really liked the ADPis.
I have to explain a little about how Panhellenic on my campus went about distributing bid cards that year before I go on with my story or it'll make no sense. The bid cards were handed to the girls behind the stage while the Rho Chis are on stage ready to put bid day t-shirts on the new members. The collegiate members were on the ground below the stage awiating the new girls. Once a girl gets her bid card, she runs up on stage and goes to the sorority she got a bid from and the Rho Chis put a bid day shirt on her and they hug her and let her go into the audience of her new sisters. I hope this makes sense.
Okay, that being said, so when I was handed my bid card behind the stage, I was so excited! I waited my turn in line to go up on the stage but by this point I was already balling my eyes out. I ran up on stage and my sister had her back to me and I just grabbed her and started hugging her. At first she didn't realize who I was but after a few seconds, she started hugging me back and crying hysterically and we stayed on that stage for 5 minutes hugging and crying. It still makes me start tearing up every time I talk about it. Anyway, I think that that was my favorite memory from being a collegiate member.

My two favorite memories were experiencing Beta for the first time at a recruitment function. Next would definitely be initiation. I've never been in love before but I'd say that both experiences(the later being much better) with Beta came pretty close to that. Words cant comprehend how awesome those times were. Cheesy as that might sound.

A Rho Chi is a Rush (excuse me Recruitment) Counselor. They disaffiliate from their sorority during rush to remain neutral and basically act as advisors and "referees" if the rushees have problems or questions.
My fave Greek memories are being active when we got our biggest pledge class in 15 years, and a Mardi Gras mixer with the men of Sig Ep. I won't elaborate on that any further, to avoid incriminating myself and others...

I have so many awesome memories in Chi O, from bid day to big sis revelation to getting my own 'lils...everything has meant so much. If I had to narrow it done, my favorite memory would have to be initiation. It was such a special and beautiful ceremony. I remember thinking how cool it was to be able to share something so special with all my sisters in Chi Omega.

My best memory was opening my bid and getting the one that I wanted. I went suicide-only putting down Chi O, when I had others that wanted me to join, too.
What a relief!!!!!!

My best Chi O memory is building the first place winning float for Picnic Day 1999 ( the largest student run fair in the country)
we hope to win again this year and we will definatley have as many memories, but hopefully less paint throwing!

I have hundreds of great memories from my sorority but another memory involved a different one. When my grandmother (an AOPi) passed away during college - so many AOPi's came up to me to help me out and comfort me- their chapter even sent flowers. It was the sweetest thing ever!

My most memorable would be my chapter's initiation and installation. Our entire chapter was initiated together by our national President, Julie Johnson. I will never forget how great it felt to finally be a real KD and then we installed our chapter and had a banquet where many KDs and ECU peolpe spoke on our behalf, they were all so welcoming and warm...which makes us want to make ECU proud.
To be honest, I'm an alumna now and when I hear how hard my chapter is working I get the same feeling, like I know the hard work we(alum) put in was definitly worth it!

Being greek has brought me so many amazing memories. I've loved every minute that I've been greek but there are a few that especially stand out.
Probably my favorite memory would be of my activation. The ceremony was so special and moving. It almost brought me to tears. Every time we have another activation it brings back all of the special memories.
Another special memory is getting to go to my first national convention this past fall. Not only did I become even closer with my sisters from LSU but also with sisters from other chapters. I remember how touching the last night was and how it literally changed my life.
Oh and ZTAFairy--I loved your story. I almost cried because it was so sweet.

Well our bid day was kinda similar.. we have this huge fountain outside the student center.. and all the sororitys on campus were waiting with ballons and signs and flowers and lil gifts.. and all sorts of things.. well when i was getting my bid we all stood in a circle and were given our cards.. when i saw that i had gotten the one i wanted i almost started crying right then.. well next they take us to a room with all the rushees.. and we get our shirts and we put on another shirt over.. well we all stand with our Rho Chi groups and we "reveal" our letters.. and RUN to our sorority... where we are welcomed with open arms.. it was sooooo BEAUTIFUL!!!
then we go to a bid day party where we spend the rest of the day talking and getting to know each other.. it was so much fun.. and i was sooooo happy that i made the right choice.. i have sooo many really special memories of rushing Phi Mu.. and all the other events that i have taken part in.. i love my sisters!

i have so many favorite memories..i can't choose..whether it's going on road trips or just talking for hours! The one that really sticks out was this year at Zeta Day when all the 50 year members were recognized! All the sisters at the table realized that Zeta truly is forever!

I have to say initiation is my all-time favorite Greek memory. It was a beautiful and emotional ceremony; something I will never forget.
