Macon, GA Cherry Blossom Festival
Hey all you Macon Magnolias! I'm in Macon again for the week (right over by Wesleyan, eat your hearts out) and they've just finished up the Cherry Blossom Festival. All over town, houses and businesses have cherry blossom wreaths or ribbons and the first time I came here, I thought that a lot of people had had baby girls because the ribbons are those big silky ones that Southern folks put out on their mailboxes when they have babies. These, however, have sprays of pink silk blossoms attached.
Others, like most of the people in my daughter's neighborhood, use wreaths. It is so neat that this city has a special seasonal decoration all its own.

We pass Wesleyan and/or Mercer every time we go out. I'll embarrass ole ASLFRose by sticking my cell phone out the window next time.

She'll be so pleased with a mother who pleases her panhellenic friends!

Go Bears!
I lived in Macon when the Cherry Blossom Festival began. It certainly has matured into a nice event, although I can't agree with dying poodles pink for the week!

Spring came so early in Georgia this year that I wondered if the cherry blossoms would be gone by the festival. A few hung on, it seems, though the leaves kind of obscured them.
I had a pink poodle once, Nut! Some neighbors dyed their white poodle puppy pink and brought it over for me because my other dog had died. My dad was hugely disgusted by the pink fur, lol.

Ooooooh I LOVE cherry blossoms! I'm going through a cherry blossom phase right now (as evidenced by my new phone cover).

I bought my house, in part, because of the cherry trees. They were in bloom the first time I came to see the house and they were so beautiful I fell in love with the yard

I'm not into dying the entire animals, but I've seen some cute Bichons with their ears dyed. One person I know has twin Bichons, and that's how she tells them apart. (collars - duh!)
