Wink I did a search but couldn't find anything soo.........

How do y'all feel about LOVE at first sight? Do you believe in it, or do you think it can't happen? I for one believe that it could happen. For instance, I saw this guy for the first time about three months ago, and he took my breath away. Since then I have talked to him and gotten to know him better. He is just the most amazing, sweetest guy I have ever met. I don't know if it is love or just an intense crush.(More than likely the latter. ) Anyways, just wondered how the very smart GCers felt about this topic!

Love at first sight: don't believe in it. Awesome Attraction, i.e. Lust, at first sight: believe it - along the lines of wobbly legs, racing hart when someone of that caliber walks into the room and your eyes meet. Its a wonderful feeling.

Love, to me, is something that develops with time. See thread "What is Love?" for my definition of love.

Talking :)

I am an absolute believer of love at first sight!!! I can still recall the exact moment I first laid eyes on my husband when he walked into my office and we were introduced to one another. I swear my heart did a somersault and from that second on, I never wanted to be with anyone else.

LOL, I guess the answer to that depends on whether you ask me or my husband. We met when his fraternity--ahem--kidnapped our pledges. He swears up and down that he saw me across the proverbial crowded room and immediately told his brother, "That is the girl I'm going to marry."

I, on the other hand, do not remember even being introduced to him that night! It didn't take me too long to come around, though. I knew I was head over heels for him by our second date...and I knew I was going to marry that man within 2 months.

I really think that "love at first sight" depends on the sort of disposition you have. It happens for some, but not for others. I don't rule it out...when it comes to love, anything is possible!

I wont believe in love at first sight until it actually happens. I do however believe in lust at first sight. I think that love doesnt happen in two seconds, it takes a while for you to get to know the person until you know whether you love him/her. Lust at first sight happens everyday

I believe in overwhelming attraction at first sight and true love later. Sometimes it's probably hard to tell the difference when your heart is doing somersaults, but I don't think real love comes until you've at least exchanged a few thousand words!

And, Tom Earp, I have a sister in ZTA named Ryan, so TechADPi isn't the only one!! I love names like Ryan and Cameron for girls - so unique!

I'd love to say it was love at first sight when I met my husband. I did feel, at the time, that it was love - but since then, we have grown so close and our love has grown so deep, that although what I felt when I first met him was overwhelming, it wasn't "love" as I now understand it.

Does that make any sense?

Yes, it certainly does make sense! Let's use a Coach Bag for analogy, shall we? When you first bring home your Coach Bag from the mall, the leather is all shiny and bright and it has that good new-leather smell and you're all excited because you have this brand new Coach Bag and it's all yours! Over time, the leather loses the new smell, the color isn't as bright, the contours of the bag change subtly to accommodate the way you carry it. Its not shiny new anymore and maybe you don't get that "OMG, I can't believe I have this incredible new Coach Bag" feeling every time you see it, but you love it just as much as you did the first day you brought it home. Not only because of what attracted you to it in the first place, but because it is YOURS!

I don't believe in love at first sight, but I do believe in destiny/fate/kissmet, etc.. When I met my current boy, there was this instant attraction/spark between us but he had a girlfriend at the time. We just started hanging out alot and eventually he and his ex split and we've been together for almost three months now. I can totally see us spending the rest of our lives together, but only time will tell.
