Underage Drinking Citations, Fire Code Violations: Wake Forest DKE

A recent article about alleged risk management issues:

http://www.digtriad.com/news/most_po...2&provider=top

A recent party at Wake Forest's Delta Kappa Epsilon house drew an etimated 200-300 attendees. Police issued citations to 80 students for underage drinking, according to the report ^^.

Additionally, regarding safety, the article reports:
. . . Winston-Salem Fire Department also gave several citations for fire code violations.

Fire Marshal Robert Owens said among the citations was impairing the fire alarm. Owens said plastic cups were purposely tapped (sic)
around the fire alarm system, which is considered a criminal violation. . . .

I'm not surprised at the underage drinking but two things come to mind: one, the Dekes running the party should've managed it better so that their party wouldn't create a disturbance and attract cops. Two, why in the hell would they mess with fire safety stuff?

To be fair, in an apartment of mine we had an oversensitive smoke detector. Whenever my roommate or I would cook (even boiling water) it would go off like crazy. Taking it down was way too much of a hassle so we just taped a plastic bag over it. Stupid and a fire hazard yes, but it did the job.

My post was eaten by GC's shut down. Either they were deep frying a turkey inside, smoking cigarettes or smoking something else.

It is possible it was oversensitive, but odds are they were doing something they weren't supposed to do (you know, besides cover the sprinklers)
