Question regarding photo submitted during registration
Really just a curiosity on my part. When I rushed many moons ago, the digital age was not what it is now. I understand from word of mouth that the majority of forms for registration require a digital upload of a photograph of the PNM. That never struck me as any big deal, but then on a dorm tour of a competitive rush school last week, I noticed many posters outside of dorm rooms with sorority XYZ, ABC, DEF....whatever and a photo of the room's occupant. Someone asked the guide about this and she said it was typical for girls who returned from bid day to be greeted with said poster at their dorm door when they returned which I thought was super cute idea. Then on the drive home I guess I really thought about the process and figured the respective sororities printed those pix (probably for their bid boards, yes/no boards, etc) and then used them on said posters. So I am guessing there is some photo release that has to be signed with these pix, but I guess in the age of FB and social networking, it raises a bit of red flag for me. How accessible are these photos? And should I care? (This from a Mom who witnessed my daughter battle facebook when someone used one of her photos (copied from a photographers website) as their profile picture. It is a really long story how my daughter found out, but it was just plain weird)
