ADPI-EE,
What a testament to your organization and your sister. That was an EXTREMELY moving and touching piece and you should be so proud to wear your letters. I really like your sub motto, as well. And I think your submotto is so wonderful--again, a testament to a wonderful sisterhood.
My thoughts and prayers are with the sisters of ADTT.

Thank you for posting that. I checked my own Fraternity's website and was saddened to read this:
_____________
News Update: September 11 Tragedy
Tragically, Delta Gamma Fraternity has been made aware of a member who is still missing after the events of September 11.
Melissa Candida Doi, Sigma-Northwestern, was in the north tower of the World Trade Center when it collapsed. Melissa worked on the 83rd floor of the north tower, where she implemented banking systems for IQ Financial Systems. She graduated from Northwestern University in 1991.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Melissa's family through this difficult time.
Reports are slowly coming in that other Delta Gammas have been and continue to be directly affected by these unthinkable tragedies. Alumnae and collegians alike have lost brothers, husbands, cousins, office buildings and homes. Sadly, stories like these continue to trickle in as rescue workers complete their arduous task.
What has outnumbered these distressing accounts, however, are messages from Delta Gammas around the globe willing, able and eager to help. Heartwarming e-mails and phone calls clearly show that Delta Gammas are there for their sisters in times of trouble.
Below is a small sample of some of the countless messages of support we have received at Executive Offices. Perhaps each of these women remind us more than ever that our commitment to Delta Gamma is for a lifetime.
On behalf of the Fraternity, thank you all for your continued concern. If you have information about a member who has been involved or if you simply have questions or concerns, please contact Whitney Parker, Director of Public Relations, at Executive Offices, (614) 481-8169 ext. 306.

~Rest in Peace Brothers~
"As many of you know, greeks are the elitists in the business world, and most of us have been tarnished by the recent acts of terrorism. My fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, has reported two Brothers missing as a result of the tragic incident that happened on 9-11-2001.
Brother Todd Weaver, Miami '93 worked for Fiduciary Trust in WTC Tower 2. Todd leaves behind his wife of 8 years.
Brother Jon Perconti, Rutgers ’92 worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 104th floor of one of the Towers. He is one of 700 people still unaccounted for from his firm. Jon left behind his wife, who is just 6 months pregnant.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families who are still missing their loved ones.

Since my earlier post, I have also found out that a sister of Alpha Phi was on one of the flights that crashed.
It inspiring to see each organization reach out to victims and the families of victims to help. We each joined our organization for a enduring friendships and lifetime membership. I think this is really showing now.
Although some of our brothers and sisters are now part of the "Omega" chapter, we remember them and find peace in knowing that we will one day be reunited.
I think it would really nice if the greek organizations got together at each university and created a memorial for the brothers and sisters lost in the 9/11 tragety. If we could contribute something to our universities in their honor...be it a plaque, monument, garden, etc......it would be a testament to our dedication to our enduring sisterhoods/brotherhoods.

At least two Delt brothers passed on to the Chapter Eternal in the World Trade Center attack. It is also important to remember that, although this is the first incident of its kind on US soil, it is not the first time Americans have been vicitimized -- as noted in the article below:
Students remember greek Pan Am victims
By Meghan Lantier
The letters are passed to a new brother each year. What normally reflect camaraderie and brotherhood, at this time symbolize condolence and loss.
They are the letters of Stephen Boland, a Delta Tau Delta brother and victim of the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. Boland and 34 other Syracuse University students died Dec. 21 of that year when the plane exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 200 people on board and another 11 on the ground. Of those on the flight, 11 were greek.
Dan Borgasano, current Delta Tau Delta president, will honor Boland this Remembrance Week, as done each year, by selecting one outstanding new brother to bear the letters. The chapter will also visit the university's memorial to the victims, offering words and prayers.
"It's definitely important to keep his memory alive," said Borgasano, a senior advertising major. "By bringing the new members to the memorial, it helps them understand how important it is."
"It's probably the most serious thing we have."
SU's annual Remembrance Week -- beginning Oct. 19 in honor of the 35 victims from the university -- has a heightened significance after last month's terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and the nation's capital.
"It affects everyone now more," said Michelle Zimmerman, an Alpha Epsilon Phi sister and one of two greek recipients of SU's Remembrance Scholarship. The scholarship is given to 35 students each year. "Before, it was hard to put Pan Am into perspective. People at SU knew that some students died, but now the focus is broader."
No Delta Delta Delta sisters were aboard Pan Am 103, but in the past four years a sister from the chapter has received the Remembrance Scholarship, said Sharon Ehm, a Delta Delta Delta sister and Remembrance Scholar. The sisters who have received the award have brought awareness of the event to the chapter, she said.
"Bringing awareness to the campus and to my organization is a goal for me and other remembrance scholars," Ehm, a senior public relations and policy studies major, said. "The students on Pan Am 103 were students just like you and me. It could have been any of us on that plane. Having a sister recognized each year has made us aware of that."
Along with Boland, Steven Berrell of Phi Delta Tau, Gary Colasanti of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Alexander Lowenstein of Zeta Psi, Cynthia Smith of Kappa Kappa Gamma and Karen Hunt, Julianne Kelly and Alexia Tsairis of Pi Beta Phi perished in the bombing. Phi Delta Tau is no longer on the SU campus and Sigma Alpha Epsilon refused to comment for this story.
Colleen Brunner of Alpha Sigma Chi at Oswego State University, John Flynn of Kappa Delta Rho at Colgate University and Thomas Schultz of Ohio Wesleyan University also died.
"A large part of what SU and the greek community lost was that these people were so young and brilliant," said Bryan Legaspi, a Sigma Phi Epsilon alumnus and fellow scholarship recipient. "At the point they died, they were all just starting out."
Both Zimmerman and Legaspi are encouraging the greek community to honor the victims by participating in Remembrance Week events. But Zimmerman said she wondered if the chapters even know greeks were lost in the tragedy.
The Remembrance scholars are encouraging greeks to create a memorial of some kind in the name of the victims, said Legaspi, a senior international relations, Spanish and economics major. By greeks doing this and supporting such events as the Remembrance Convocation and the rose laying ceremony, it would show "how strong the greek bond is and how it transcends time," he said.
Scholars are required to wear pins during Remembrance Week, showing a victim's picture. Legaspi requested that his button show one of the greeks. He is also relying on service fraternities, such as Alpha Phi Omega, to support the week's mission. The chapter plans to tie ribbons around trees and conduct presentations in the Schine Student Center to inform students of the 1988 bombing.
Many students only hear of the tragedy when they arrive in Syracuse, said Zimmerman, a senior policy studies and public relations major.
Said Legaspi, "We can't forget about these people."

And this from Dr. Bob Roush, International President of Delta Tau Delta:
September 18, 2001
My Brother Delts,
Like each of you, I was shocked and deeply affected by the senseless loss of life in New York and in Washington, D.C., this past Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a day no one will ever forget. All loss of life is tragic; however, this was especially egregious because it was caused by those who would destroy our way of life, including the very foundation of our beliefs: especially freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of association, freedom to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. Once again the world now realizes how precious those freedoms are and how much they are worth preserving, including going into battle against those who wish to deny us those freedoms.
And once again Delts will join this fight; some will lose their lives. One already has: Brother Kevin Marlo (University of Pittsburgh, 1995) worked for Sandler O'Neill on the 105th floor of one of the towers of the World Trade Center. He has not been heard from since that fateful day. This good Delt joins those in the Chapter Eternal who also died at the hands of terrorists: Brothers Peter R. Peirce (Ohio State University, 1971) and Stephen J. Boland (Syracuse University undergraduate) were aboard Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988 when their lives and those of their families and their Fraternity brothers were forever shattered by the coward's bomb that took their plane into the Scottish countryside.
(Note: Since this was written it was discovered that Brian Cummins, Colorado, 1986, a partner with Canter Fitzgerald also perished in the attack on September 11)
As you read this letter, please bow your heads in a moment of silence to honor these departed brothers. And remember, too, all those who perished and their families who anguish over the senselessness of the deaths of their loved ones who told them goodbye as they left for work that morning and who called them to tell them they loved them just before the end.
In the midst of all this sorrow, I see hope for the future, hope for you, hope for America, indeed hope for the world. Our president and his team of leaders are showing us the resolve we must have to face this adversity. Our national leaders would be, like the Arch Chapter and me, proud of your individual and collective efforts, too numerous to mention here. In prayer vigils, memorial services, blood drives, fund raising, Delts all across the world are showing the terrorists of what humanity is really made. Because of our national resolve and fine young men like you and our alumni, the war has already been won, although a few tough battles have yet to be fought.
Our Founders were about your age when their lives were torn asunder by that most devastating of national conflicts, the Civil War. Yet, all but one lived long, successful lives. Many, many of our brothers about your age survived World Wars I and II, the Korean Conflict, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the assassination of President Kennedy, Vietnam, the Gulf War, and the Balkans. And you will survive this, too. You will be successful, you will show the world what loyalty is because you have already demonstrated that you know and appreciate what loyalty means to achieve individual and group goals. You learned this at The Delt House where you also learned leadership and the value of teamwork.
So my brothers, just continue doing what you are doing very well: work hard, make your grades, do not give in to despair, and help your fellow man stay the course. God bless each of you, God bless Delta Tau Delta, and God bless America.
I am fraternally your brother,
Bob Roush, EZ '64
