A Ballerina Recruitment Story

Alina Cojocaru is the sorority I want to join
Gelsey Kirkland is another sorority
Ashley Bouder is my sorority
England is my state
The Royal Ballet is my college

I went through informal for a sorority. I am calling it Alina Cojocaru for my favorite ballerina. I had to go early alum from my NPC sorority Ashley Bouder when my Mom got sick and I transferred to The Royal Ballet in England to be closer to her. There is no Ashley Bouder here at The Royal Ballet.

When I went to campus one day I saw a girl wearing Alina Cojocaru's letters and had never seen those before. I did some research about Alina Cojocaru and called the HQ for more info. They said that there was a chapter of Alina Cojocaru at The Royal Ballet and gave me info to ask them about membership. I sent an email to Alina Cojocaru and got an email back that asked if I could meet a few Alina Cojocaru members at Starbucks on Saturday. I said yes.

So I was waiting at a table and three girls walked in, one had this Alina Cojocaru shirt. They came to my table and asked if I was SusieMu.
Talking to them wasn't too bad. We talked for a little while and said goodbye.

A week after Starbucks I got another email from Alina Cojocaru. They asked me to come to a social they were having with Gelsey Kirkland.

The social was fun. We played scrabble. They asked me to fill out an info sheet for potential members.

I got a phone call after I got home from the social. An Alina Cojocaru was on the phone and said she was sorry but I would not be invited to rush Alina Cojocaru this fall but the chapter wants to get to know me better in the fall. Good news I guess?

I'm really interested in Alina Cojocaru, so I guess I'll see what happens and get to know the Alina Cojocaru sisters this fall.

If you already initiated into an NPC sorority, you can't join another one. Is Aline Cojocaru an NPC sorority? Since it has an HQ, I'm assuming it's not a local.

Alina Cojocaru is not NPC or a local.

That leaves Alina Cojocaru as an NPHC.

Are there rules prohibiting a member of an NPC joining an NPHC? You might need to check into that.

If I recall correctly from another post on the Divine Nine, one of the HBGLOs allows NPC members to join (or at least it is nowhere expressly forbidden) but the others HBGLOs do not.

That's what I was thinking, service or professional. At my campus, the professional Greek organization from the business school was very active. They participated in lots of events, had a bike team for Little 500, had socials, dances, etc. They were co-ed so they didn't have to pair with anyone.

We've been over this before, but it appears that while there is no actual rule against it, it would definitely be frowned upon by both groups. It probably wasn't addressed years ago because it didn't occur to anyone, but as times change it probably does need to be officially addressed.

/eta it could also be one of the sororities that is much larger than a local but not in NPC. I can't think of the one that is commonly mentioned as the next addition to NPC. It could also be AOE or one of the big and organized service sororities. Or a religious one.

I was in for a surprise today!
My phone went off and it was someone from Alina Cojocaru. She asked me to meet her at The Royal Ballet in 90 minutes.

When I got to school all the Alina Cojocarus were there! One of them gave me an card. It was a card inviting me to join Alina Cojocaru!

Which is
