another clothing question..
Does anyone have any thoughts about wearing pants for the second day of rush? They are high waisted sailor type linen pants similar to these
that I am thinking about wearing with a white strapless top w/ a cardigan and wedge heels. The information I have from my school says that the recommended day 2 attire is casual skirts, pants, or a casual sundress.

Not knowing the school, but going off what you said the rush packet advises, those pants should be fine...however I would recommend putting on the outfit for a few hours, and if you end up tugging at the strapless top AT ALL, pick a different top.

Second Alpha Frog. Consider spaghetti straps or something similar instead, to avoid the tugging and pulling battle. But the pants are really cute and the outfit sounds fine the way you describe it. Think about some dressy accessories to go with it. I think the pants will be different because a lot of girls will probably go with a dress, as it's just easier, and different is good (when you're standing out in a positive way, which this outfit will). It makes you easier to remember, and you want that. Good luck with recruitment!

thank you!
Thanks for the advice! I have a top with straps that would go as well so that might be a better option. The shoes I'm planning on wearing are brown so I was thinking a gold bangle and gold earrings would work well.

PNMs, take note...this is the way to get your questions answered here. People are going to go out of their way to help someone like this, who is polite and takes suggestions, rather than coming back with defensive posts or smart answers (save that for after bid day ).
Good form, callie.

Hi callie45,
Again, not knowing your school/location, which is fine, I think that's a very cute outfit - my only "caution" is this: if you're in Tucson, you might be really hot in those pants and linen will be horribly wrinkled at your first party. It's really overcast this morning, heavy air, very humid/muggy; we might be getting rain/thunderstorms today unless it burns off fast. Just keep an eye on the weather where you're at.
Good luck to you and all the other PNMs!!!

The only worry I would have with the linen is the wrinkles - perhaps if you are allowed to have "recruitment kits" that the Rho Gammas/Pi Chis/Recruitment Counselors collect before each party, consider some wrinkle releaser, if the pants aren't white and won't go see-through.

Thank you! I am thinking about wearing a hot pink cardigan-do you think that will be ok?
My school is an ACC school to give you all an idea of location and trends. The round is in the later evening-from dinner time on-so it shouldn't be too hot but I will be sure to check the weather and have a back up outfit in mind.
I too have thought about the wrinkle problem. I am going to have them pressed right before rush. The dewrinkle spray is a great idea-I had not thought of that. The pants are not white so I think it would work well. Thank you!
I am VERY nervous about rush so I really appreciate everyones advice and suggestions!

I can't quite see from the picture, and I don't know your school, but I think the idea sounds cute.
DEFINITELY wear them for about an hour before to test. Wrinkling may be a problem, but I would be more worried 1) that they would stretch out when you wear for long periods of time 2) that you would have to adjust them every time you stood up—don't forget, high-waisted pants tend to ride up.

adzg raises a VERY good point-please have a friend do a visible panty check with them- make sure your pants are not see-through enough so that it is a distraction, as in, "OMG, ewww, that PNM is wearing something polka dotted under those pants!" White/light unlined pants can be tricky with that! You will be leaving the sororities with an impression that perhaps is not the one that you would wish that they would remember you for.

My favorite solution is nude panties that are as close as possible to my skin tone, and yes have someone check!
As for wrinkles, when you wear linen pants you're going to get them, but if you press them beforehand you should be ok. Take the spray if you can, but if not just don't sit in any awkward positions that'll give you weird bunches. (I have two pairs of linen pants I love and when I can't fit spray in my purse I just try to sit in a similar fashion most of the time, so at least the wrinkles that do appear look natural and not like I forgot to press my pants.)
