Nsync on BET?

About 15 minutes ago, I was looking for something to watch and I turn to BET and there was the video "Gone" by Nsync. I thought that I might of turned to MTV by mistake, but there was the BET sign on the bottom of the screen! Don't get me wrong, I actually like Nsync, but why was their video on BET? Should I expect to see Aerosmith or Backstreet Boys in the near future? I am just wondering! When I turn to BET I expect to see R. Kelly or Mary, not Britney Spears!!! I just hope BET doesn't get that ridiculous.

What's wrong with NSYNC on BET? I personally like their music and the song "Gone" in particular. It's a great song that is more R&B than it is pop. That's probably why BET chose to air it. Good music is good music, regardless of the performer's color

There seems to be an common assumption that the only things that Black people find entertaining are Hip-hop, R & B, and tasteless comedy. African-Americans are a divers group of people and therefore, their tastes are also diverse. I would welcome more variety in the poor programming of BET.

you know the countdown that the vj tiffany hosts(it comes on after 106 and park)? well, there is one episode called "top five pop videos" or something like that....they were showing the top five videos from white artists, or something like that. that came on about...2ish weeks ago.

you were probably seeing a repeat of it.

Question Weeelllll....

They've got a Top 25 countdown on right now....and, Aerosmith's video "Amy's got a gun" (I think that's what it's called) just went off????

Maybe that was the whole plan anyway...piss educated, intelligent black folks off with mediocre & down right degrading/insulting tv programs...we (the educated, intelligent black folk) all boycott the station...then, they switch to the programming they wanted to show in the first place...white world w/ no black/hispanic folk...???

I don't see anything wrong with N'sync being on BET. I happen to like them, especially the songs "Pop" and "Gone." I'm not the biggest fan of Brittney, but I like her song Slave because her beat is similar to Vanity's "Nasty Girl." Remember there was a time when only white artists were on MTV. Michael Jackson was the first black artist to premier on MTV. What if whites said the same thing back in the early 80's? Oh and by the way, Aerosmith has already been on BET...remember "Walk this Way" with Run DMC? BET is already ridiculous, but it's not because white artist are becoming mainstream on the network. It's because the images of T and A's that plagues the screen everyday along with a lack of quality programming. If BET was so interested in Black Entertainment, they would know that we are not half naked dancers who are always laughing and disinterested in the world around us.

"Janie's got a Gun" (that is from an Aerosmith fan) . I don't have anything else to say. This conversation took place in another forum when BET aired "Dirty Pop", another N'sync song, earlier this summer.

I must agree with the past postings that I don't have a problem with *NSYNC on BET I am personal happy that *NSYNC is on BET since I am a big fun am glad they are starting to be more respected across all genres of music. My problem with BET is not that they showed *NSYNC video but that they show to many videos period. Through out the day they air video shows back to back just with different names. I think that that with their fall primetime line up they have improved but there is still room for improvement.

What's the problem?

I don't watch BET, but see nothing wrong with an Nsync video.

Arrow Days gone by!

Do you all remember back in the day when Duran Duran or was it The Power Station was on Soul Train?

Anyway, they were. I was a happy so and so. Why? I don't know, I was just happy that my peeps were on Soul Train.

Even though it was many, many years ago, it's the SAME script, yet DIFFERENT cast.

Actually, what I think Fuji was speaking about was that Justin phoned into 106 yesterday as BET started playing "Gone". MTV has been playing it for days now. I know because when I first saw it on MTV one morning, I was almost late for work.

BET played "Gone" this morning, I don't know which video show because there are so many. I did see the 106 episode the other day when Justin called in. You gotta give it to them though, the song is tight. I really started paying N'Sync some attention when they sang Janet's "That's the Way Love Goes." They gained cool points with me because I think they did a good job.

I don't find anything wrong with them being on BET, esp. if the video being featured is more R&B than pop (which the songs "Dirty Pop (the remix of "Pop)" and "Gone", and Brittney Spears' "Slave for You" are). Also, FYI, "Dirty Pop" and "Slave for You" are both songs produced by the Neptunes, which may also be another reason for the songs to be displayed on BET...And anyway, I LOVE that song "Gone", so I really don't care as long as I don't see the video 50 million times...

Also, I agree with whoever said BET plays too many music videos in the first place, most of which contain lyrics that are not uplifting to our community ...
