Next Food Network Stars
Is anyone watching this season's Next Food Network Stars on the Food Network? I got hooked on the show last season.
Anyway, this season is proving very interesting. I can already tell the finalists are likely to be Aarti (who I think is beautiful) and Aria (great pesonality). Brianna is very pretty too, but doesn't have the personality to get to the end.

I watch, but I don't stay hooked the way I do to Top Chef, mostly because TNFNS promises me a "Star" and doesn't really deliver. It seems like (similar to American Idol?) one or two of the runner ups gets picked up for a show instead.
I like the Next Iron Chef better even if they did ditch Batali
However I agree with you on Aarti, she'll get a show either way.

I'm watching too, and I agree that it seems to be Aria's and Aarti's to lose.

Is Aarti the one going with the Indian cuisine angle for a show?

Yep. She actually has an online cooking show already. I rather hope she wins, I love Indian food and any more representation on TV will only make it easier for me to get ingredients and try it at home.

I love Aarti she's hands down my favorite. I'm sad Dzitra (sp) went home because she was great to watch in a really awkward painful kind of way.

Yea, when Dzitra left, I really don't think the other contestants were all that unhappy. I mean they gave her perfunctory "we-have-to-do-this-because-the-camera-is-rolling" hugs, but it didn't seem authentic.
Now if they can just get Serena to slow down her words per minute to oh, say, 8,000, we might understand what she's saying.
Biggest kick for me last night was seeing Guy Fieti (sp) play "tough guy" on some of the bad meals. He's always hyped on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives so this was a new look, IMO.

I was watching Iron Chef the other night and I wondered what happened to Batali. What's the story on that?
(It's pretty funny that I like these cooking shows in view of the fact that I don't cook)

Eh they had a falling out. They stopped airing his show, which hadn't had a new episode in a while and so I think he decided to pull back and so did the network. So they did the first "next iron chef" and pick Symon, and I think Batali had done a few following that but then by the next season of the show Batali was gone.
