Honda Civic
This morning at about 8:30am my mom comes into my room to tell me that her and my dad are going to go look at cars. My mom has been wanting a Yukon for a long time so i figured thats what they were going to do. I was hesitant to go, but i got up, took a shower and went with them along with my little brother. Once we got there, they started looking at like Honda Civics, and they were like "do you like this one?". Finally I caught on that we were looking for cars for me!!! I was so excited!!! Anyways, we found one we really liked. Its a 2000 Honda Civic EX thats loaded with everything except leather seats- but thats okay because its too hot in houston to have them anyway. It only has 15k on it, and they are selling it for 15,000 which is about 2,000 less than the blue book retails it at. We also look at some 2002 Honda Civics, that were not loaded except for CD player. Those were about 16,000-17,000 but the salesman said that hondas usually dont loose their value over the years like other cars do, and the 2000 was loaded. As a salesman he said that he 2000 was a better buy. I would be happy either way. I kind of like the 2002 because its a new car, but the 2000 is fully loaded!!! LOVE the sunroof!!
Since the dealership we went to is pretty far from our house, we came back so I can get my car squeaky clean to see how much we can trade it in for. They are holding the civic for us anyway.
I am soooooo excited about this that I just wanted to share with you guys!!! Hopefully tonight I will post the good news!

Oh how fun!!! I have 2 friends who have civics and they LOVE them!!!! And the salesman was right, from what I understand they don't lose the value like others do. Good Luck!!!!!

I have a 97 Honda Civic, the 2 DR Coupe, and I love that car! But, Brookline, you're right...I hate that damn cup holder when it's open and you're trying to change the CD on the highway and end up nearly crashing Other than that, he's a good little egg

Congrats BUcutie!
I was hoping that you would get the 2000. I'm a proud owner of a 1997 4DR Sedan LX and I've never had any problems with it. My car's always been economical when it game to gas!
Have fun!

Thanks OTW
Last night before i went to bed and this morning when i woke up, i looked out the window to reassure myself it was still there. I dont think I will ever get tired of looking at it, im in love
I still cant believe I only got $1500 for my trade-in. You know they rip you off on that because they will turn right back around and sell it for about 6 or 8 grand. By the way, the car i used to drive was a 97 hyundai accent. I know hyundais arents the best cars, but i really never had any problems with it, and it was my first car- so i was sad to see it go.
My parents took the car to church right now, so i think im going to go take a shower so when they come back I can put my CD's and everything else in it!!

Congrats on the new car!! Enjoy!!
My dad used to drive a Honda Accord - he loved that car. My folks got burned on American cars one too many times, but the Japanese know how to build cars
You're right, dealers never give you the $ you could get selling your car privately - but it's a trade-off - is the extra few hundred dollars worth the hassle of advertising, taking people for test drives, etc? Stinks, though

Congrats! my hubby has a 92 Civic (yea..he's not very status minded, lol) and it's been the more dependable auto in the family.
If my 96 Dodge Stratus holds up until next spring, I'll be selling it to get (I hope) a Toyota Highlander..my mechn says he might be interested...
Or it may turn out that we trade the Civic...oh well...he just bought a motorcycle anyway~

Congrats Bucutie!!!! I have a 93 Honda Accord. I absolutely love Hondas. They are very dependable. The only problem I've had was having to replace the radiator (but that was my dad's fault). My Honda has definitely been good to me...I'm possibly one of the world's worst drivers...yet my Honda just keeps on going. Plus they are cute cars!!!!

IowaHawkeye, I know i wanted an SUV, but since i commute to school three days a week, i would be spending a lot of money on just gas!
I know this car will save me gas money, but my other car was pretty good too.... only about $15 to fill the tank up. I will probably save a lot more because i wont be using my A/C as much now that I have a sliding sunroof!!
