Ideas for a Guest Speaker

I have been designated by the PTA to find a guest speaker for our next meeting. The last two we had were a financial advisor and a computer store owner.

I am trying to find someone who can provide information for parents without them feeling like thay have to buy something. In light of the added streed parents have had to deal with, I'd like make the next one fun.

My current ideas lean towards:

Stress busters for parents
dealing with tragedy
nutrition for family

any ideas?

With the holiday season approaching, having someone come in and talk about toy alternatives (creative play vs. electronic gizmos) or holiday planning might be good. Be sure to cover all the bases, though, re: Chanukah, etc.

Thumbs up Nutrition...

A Nutritionist sounds good. Considering that our kids are getting fatter and fatter, it would be a good topic. He/She could discuss ways to create healthy, easy to make meals; ways for the family to get fit while spending time together; and low-cost or free exercise plans.

My local YWCA and YMCA have some great speakers, and you are NOT obligated to join or sign up for anything to get them to come out for free.
