80 bucks??

I hate campus parking. I got a ticket for being in a 2 hour zonefor 2.5 hours. Then the cop came back and ticketed me for being 20 inches away from the curb( I was lazy and late for class and naively thought that no one REEEALLY tickets for that). Total damage:80 bucks. Ok...I just needed to vent. I am such a moron.

Hmmm isn't chalking tires considered vandalism, much like spray painting and graffitti?

The parking cops in my neighborhood are notoriously militant--living and working as I do right off club zone usa--los angeles' sunset strip. OK, so I appreciate that in my permit-only neighborhood when it means all the club goers can't take my parking, but at work, where there are meters in front of the building-- what really got me was--

9-11-01. 9am PST. Parking Brigade out ticketing our cars when we were all glued to tv in office and crying over our lost NY co-workers in the WTC. I mean, WTF? They couldn't take a break from parking tickets for ONE DAY?

Whatever...

Grrrr!@@@@!!!! I am feeling everyone's vibe on this big time. @ specfic rants from me on this. Ok, so I live across the street from a private school, the cheap punks don't own their own parking lot.(How much sense does that make for a school not to have a parking lot ) SO what do they do, they park up and down our street blocking every entry and space till almost 4pm and don't let the school have a night event, cause you'll never park till after midnite.
My Second Rank, Parking Tickets Suck!! But Even worse, Speeding tickets!! I was on I-83 in Maryland coming home from work, I wasn't even doing 10 over the speed limit I was doing barely 6miles over the limit. Of course I get pulled over for doing 56 in a 50mph. So the ticket was $100 so the officer told me, oh wow you have a great drivers record, you should take it to court so you don't get the point. Then if I have suck a great drivers record, wth am I still getting the ticket!!!! GRrrrr@@@!!!!
So anyway I went to court, hoping he wouldn't show up, and of course he shows up, actually the only one who showed up in court that day so everyone got off but me, I still wind up getting a 50something dollar ticket, and no point. So I guess I won in a way, but the guy in front of me was caught driving without a license and pretty much just walked. WTH. Oh well must have just been my bad luck :P

Legally chalk in not vandalism. Cops have the right to chalk your tires as long as its on the part of the tire that you drive on. Because once you drive it goes away.

I feel all of your pain. I had to pick up my roommate today because her boyfriend had parked her car in someone else's spot in the garage and it got towed. $160 bucks. People are so anal...it's just ridiculous. Speeding tickets....yeeeeah...isn't the basic law to go with the flow of traffic?

Oh...Anyone else notice that cops are the worst offenders of all traffic laws. They never signal. Somehow that badge makes them exempt from following the very laws they are to enforce.

Last night I saw a cop giving a ticket to a car that was parked up against the curb, with flashers on, because the driver had to run up and get someone, the car was there for like 5 minutes and there was NOWHERE to park. I also saw a cop parked in front of a fire hydrant last night. But, who are you gonna call?
