another attempt to pass time, in this thread we post in rhyme!
in a dr. seuss mood? put it all here
why not a new thread in time for the new year?
fellow GCers, trolls and those who lurk
pass some more time on the greekchat network
follow the rules, only post in rhyme
keep it going and have a good time!

Posting in rhyme? Well that's a lark!
I'm not very good, just a shot in the dark.
How many lines should I write, tld?
Any specific topic? What should it be?
Well I've given a try. That's all I can do.
Can't ask for more from a gal with more than one loose screw!

Oh, THIS is what I need, something else to distract
Thanks, tld221, now my brain is wracked!
The goal for '08 was to go to bed on time,
but instead, here I am, devising some rhyme.
Insomnia has some benefits, though, I guess,
when I post late I get the last word (which I like, I confess).
It'd been a tough year when I found GC in the fall,
it's sure brightened my days chatting "virtually" with you all.
Tld, this may become my very favorite thread,
but I'm done rhyming for now, I AM going to bed!

Posting in rhyme is hard to do.
Is it okay if we try some Haiku?

Posting in rhyme? Gee, that's something new.
I'm already blank. Sadly, it's true.
but leaving two lines is not nearly enough
I thought this'd be easy, but it's rather tough

The decorations are down,
the house looks so bland.
So start the long months of winter,
wish I had my toes in the sand!

I'm finally home from my holiday,
If only United hadn't caused a delay!
I slowly did all the wash and put up the clothes,
but this cold I have is doing numbers with my throat and my nose.
I had to go shopping for food and for drink,
and just my luck, the commissary was filled to the brink.
And now, I'm home and bored as you can see,
because I'm rhyming about my bland day in a thread on GC.

SoCalGirl, just try to rhyme
You'll pick up the rhythm in no time.
Half days at work are pretty cool
Much like a 2 hour delay from school.
Chicago peeps, I need some aid.
Where's a fun place to go where I can get
drunk?

I too am bored; this thread is fun
I'll check it 'til the day is done
GCers here are funny and smart
to keep it going, I'll do my part
I can't believe we've reached 08!
the 15th is coming; I can't wait!
a centennial for an illustrious sisterhood
100 years old never looked so good!
this isn't that forum; i know. i digress
but excitement propels me to share with the rest!
i'm started to get the hang; i've written plenty now
should I depart with a curtsey or bow?

SoCalGirl, go ahead and haiku
5-7-5 is the thing to do!
however, if you want to throw us off track
typical of GC, be sure to bring the rhymes back!
hell, id be impressed with iambic pentameter
or how bout Earpisms laced in Absolut licquer?
2008 will marks a momentous year
congrats ilovemyAKA, but wait till 2022 gets here!
but what's up with me? nada, a night in,
ate chips and dip, sour cream and onion.
i could do this every day, all night
but Leno's on, how will he do with jokes he had to write?
*ooh so far, he's trying too hard
writers, come back with your cue cards!

nittanyalum, I'm slightly offended
I thought I had your favorite thread, I can't comprehend it
I should be going to bed now, it's getting quite late
instead I'll talk to my friends about my wonderful date

cuteASAbug, I still ADORE your thread, never fear!
But this is just a fun new thing for this year.
A wonderful date?!? Good for you!
He better be a stand-up-kinda-mister
'Cuz knowing AlphaFrog and 33girl,
He won't want to answer to your ASA sisters!

Oh, what to make for the evening meal?
I really don't want to cook.
Looks like a good evening for hubby to choose
And get dinner out of the phone book!

I have 3 more days to intern for free
The hospital gets labor pro bono from me
I hope it looks good on my resume
If not, I think I'll quit today
