How high does the eagle fly.....
Whats up peeps....im a sigma chi down here in Florida and i just got back this weekend from spending some time with my cousin who is pledging EX up at Auburn Univ. When people around campus kept saying how high does the eagle fly? I was like what???? Finally one of the brothers said people think the EX challenge is how high does an eagle fly? Higher than the cross of sigma chi. Apparently from what people told me is that a lot of other people think that too. Now im not a new brother...ive been in since the Fall '98 and they don't say that here in FL. So i was wondering if people actually think thats our challenge....i think its some funny sh*t.

How high does an eagle fly? Higher than the FLAG of Sigma Chi.
That's the version that I was told by a PIKE. I guess it's one of those accepted false truths that everyone loves telling about certain GLOs.
I was also shown the supposed handshake. All I can say is that if that one isn't true, it should be! I thought it was pretty cool.
Since I'm in California, I guess that yeah, a lot of people all across the country think it's true!

All I know is that many years ago at that campus (many, many), the AOPis used to date a lot of Sigma Chis and they had some running joke about "Eagles DO fly high,"--"Yep, eagles DO fly high."

I've heard the 4 handshakes thing, but I wasn't sure if it was true. So maybe the one I was shown is real, but an open one.
Do you want me to describe it on here, or email you. Cause if it's true, I don't want to put it out there. If it's fake, well, fake rituals/secrets amuse the hell out of me!
Let me know!
p.s. If it 's true, I wouldn't expect a Sigma Chi to even tell me so.

LOL
How funny is this? I've heard that one up here too. Although we've trimmed it a bit more to simply 'not as high as a sigma chi'. i heard this whole story about a bunch of frat guys preteneding they were sigs. They had supposedly learned the handshake from somewhere and went to a chapter house at another school posing as sigs (appauling for frat boys from another house to do this, but that's another story, if this is indeed true). This is apparantly where they were told the oh so secret motto of sigma chi .
