ME!!! I LOVE that show!!
Favorite characters are, of course - Tim Riggons (but he's off now to San Antonio State )
Coach Taylor and his wife are wonderful - so believable and true to what real life is like.
I just about love everyone on the show!!
edit to add that I am so grateful to NBC for recognizing what a fantastic program it is and renewing it for 2 seasons despite fairly low viewership numbers!

I would not watch the show when it first came on. I do not like sports, and typically do not like sports shows, and then I was home for a few days because of an injury, and I decided what the heck, and watched it on Hulu. I was SOOOO wrong about the show, its so much more than sports. It really is one of the best developed shows on the TV. It really digs into its characters and the way of life, without being artificial...
I can't decide who I like... The Taylors are awesome, and I find them to be the first "real" parents on TV. Landry has grown on me, and I've always been interest in Tyra. Tim Riggins is fun and surprising, and gave Lyla a lot more interesting storyline. I kind of got bored with Jason Street a little, as it seemed that he just would not leave the show even though it was his time. They struggle with just letting Jason and Smash go, but they have to realize that that is going to happen when you have a high school series with one season of TV being one year of high school...
Joe McCoy bugs the SHIT out of me, but he is suppose to, no? I hate that the town voted Coach Taylor out, they really treat him horribly.

Riggins is definitely my favorite, followed by a close close second with Coach Taylor. I love how vulnerable Riggins actually is - it takes a long time for the audience to acually see through the drunk, tough boy image, but by the end of the first season, it's pretty clear he has so much depth.
As for Coach Taylor, I think he is the best TV dad and coach. My favorite scene EVER was when Saracen was drunk and Coach Taylor busted into his house and threw him in the bathtub and was squirting him with with water. And Saracen was like, "everybody leaves me...my mom, my dad, your daughter for the Swede, Carlotta's leaving me for another country, you're leaving me for TMU...What's wrong with me?" And then Coach Taylor just stops everything, and he's like, "There's nothing wrong with you." Best scene ever. I absolutely love that part. OMG.

My favorite scene, or scenes, were when Coach Taylor walked in on Saracen and Julie doing the wild thing, and he just walks out with that look of total shock on his face - that was SOOO believable. Then when he and Tami are in bed and he tells her what happened and she sits bolt upright and knows that she has to talk to Julie. She starts to get up and Coach says, "you better know what you're going to say before you go out there." and she just lays back down. That is so what I would have done.
Then, the frank discussion Tami and Julie have about love and sex and Tami only wanting the best for Julie - I cried like a baby watching that. It was lovely and true and deep.
BEST SHOW on television!!

I like when the Coach said that he is waiting to see the Coach's Wife, and Tami replies that she is still waiting to see the Principal's husband.
My favorite scene however (atleast from the last season, because my memory is horrible) was when Matt is over for dinner, and talking about being a Tight End or some position and the coach gets angry, and says that if he can go out and catch every ball, he will think about it, and they go outside at o'dark thirty at night, and he catches every ball but the last, and you just get so damn upset at that moment, but then Coach plays him the next game... My recap sounds cheesy, but its played awesome on TV...
Or anytime when Matt stands up for his Grandma, or when his Grandma gives in a little, but won't admit to it...

It was actually a wide receiver, and yes that scene was amazing and hilarious. I've never seen a bad episode of this show. Ever. This has to be hands down the best show on T.V. right now.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! Tim is definitely my favorite. Along with Matt. And whoever said that the Taylors are a "real" tv family is definitely right on The show is so fun to watch and I'm not even a huge football fan.

LOVE THE SHOW!!
I tried to avoid watching it, but a friend convinced me that it was worth watching and gave me the first season on DVD. I watched it all in a day and then watched the second season online to catch up to what was being shown.
So glad that I have DirecTV and was able to watch everything before it went onto NBC.
Saracen is my favorite character and I love the dynamic of the Taylors.
I was so happy when I found out that it was renewed for two more seasons.

Riggins is the most interesting character. Smash Williams is gone. Lyla and Tyra are ok. Landry is a dud. Matt is a zero. Grandma needs to go.
Bring back Riggins' desperate neighbor housewife girlfriend.

I also am a huge fan of this show. I also love that it is filmed in Austin. Riggins will likely not go to college but stay and help his brother.

I really haven't gotten into watching FNL, however I did go to high school with Zach Gilford who plays Matt Saracen. Maybe that's why...it was weird enough watching him on Grey's Anatomy during the final episode this season. And I know many of my school friends agree...it's like living in some kind of alternate universe.
