Question For those of you who wear make-up

When do you first remember wearing it? (Having your face wiped with your mother's sponge to remove the "shine" doesn't count...LMAO)

What brand did you purchase/ use?

At an early age, were you only limited to lip gloss?

I remember in the 2nd grade this girl (not-AA) had her entire locker filled with make-up. I bet her butt looks older than Phyllis Diller right now. LMAO

I don't remember the exact age that I started wearing make-up but I know that I was "wet n wild" fanantic. That's really all my mother would let me wear and it was limited to lip liner, lipstick, and nail polish. When I got a little older, I used Mary Kay products for free because my grandmother used to be a representative. In High school, I used a combination of Mary Kay, Revlon, and Mac (mac was closer to my senior year though).

I rather not wear make-up. To this day, I only use lipstick and eyeliner on a daily basis and leave the heavy make-up to special occasions. I remember in middle school, I was allowed to use flavored lip gloss and press powder. I think it was Cover Girl.

Oh I LOVE make-up! I remember in junior high i was only allowed to wear lig gloss and nail polish, but I can remember going to school and putting on my friends make-up. Of course I had to wash that stuff off BEFORE I went home so I wouldn't get in trouble. When I started high school, I was able to wear everything. I wore mostly Revlon in high school.

In middle school, I was the make up queen! My mother wouldn't let me use it, so I'd always have to sneak it out of the house and put it on when I got to school. Everyone always told me my face would crack. But I didn't just throw it on and look like a clown...I read Bobbi Brown, Cindy Crawford, and Kevin Aucoin make up books. I practiced and practiced until it was perfect. Even now, people ask me to help them apply make-up on special occasions. I probably started out w/ wet n' wild and bonne belle, then moved on to Revlon and Cover Girl in middle school, then Clinique and Avon in high school. Now I'm all about Mary Kay and MAC.

Make-up

I don't like make up and never have. I think make up is a sign of insecurity among women. We don't need makeup to look or improve beauty. We are naturally beautiful! Think about it

I was probably 13 or 14, and the first brand I remember wearing was Polished Ambers (?) by Revlon.. that brand is no longer in stores, so that might give you an idea how old I am.

I first started wearing makeup when I turned 13. I'll never forget it...my father told me on "since you're 13, you wear a little lipstick." What did he tell me that for?! I went out and bought the brightest red lip stick ever! Call me boogie (the way black folk spell it!), but I started off with Mary Kay because my mother was a consultant. Once in high school, I started venturing off into MAC. Those are the only brands of make up that I use to this day.

My mother used to always let me play with her makeup when I was little. She would even help me. She would do my lipstick and eyeshadow and mascara. I had so much fun with that, so I never really wanted to wear make up to school. The most I did was some of the flavored lip gloss.

My mother taught me that makeup shouldn't be a staple. Instead, it's a little something extra for special occassions. To this day, I don't wear makeup every day. If I feel that I'm looking especially good in my outfit, I'll put on a little mascara and lipstick. But, I save the really good stuff for special occassions and nights out.

We think alike

I was 14 when i started wearing eyeliner, and lip gloss. well I stole the lip gloss from my mom, because It was strawberry flavored. *don't tell her, she'll still beat my but if she knew i did that* hee hee.

I Started wearing eyeshadow and stuff like that when i was 17 or 18. I was a tom boy a late bloomer, but dag nabit I look good wearing it now.

Flashback:

My grandma sent me a beautiful make up kit when i was 13 with this LOUD RED lipstick, that was only deemed pretty if "White girls wore it". I put it on, boy did I look like a clown. LMAO To say the least my mom confiscated my Kit and gave it to me when I was 18. After she USED some of the best eyeshadow colors,
Talk about bootleg.LMAO

13. My mother let me wear Maybelline & Revlon. I could wear lipstick, rather than lipgloss.

Well compared to everyone else, I guess I'm a late bloomer!
I got my first MAC compact when I was a junior in college. I didn't wear powder or foundation before that but I did know how to hook my lips up!
On a daily basis I usually wear some lip gloss or lipstick or just some chapstick when I'm casual.
I recently started to wear eyeshadow (it really does make a difference) but I only really put on powder and eyeshadow when I go out to party or something.

This question was directed to those WHO WEAR MAKE-UP...

I didn't ask what non-make-up wearers think, thought or care(d) about...

My first make-up item was lipstick in a hideous (sp) shade of red by Cover Girl. I looked like Homie D. Clown.
