Yeah, Yikes!
But, my question is, why is their greek affiliation part of the headline? Unless they were dealing out of the house, whether or not they're in a sorority really has no bearing on whether or not they are coke heads!
Methinks the Daily Tarheel editorial board has an issue with Greek life... (but what else is new with college newspapers)

This is less about being a "coke head" and more about possession perhaps with the intent to distribute.
Chi O is part of the story because one of the initial arrestees was a Chi O and one of the new arrestees lived at the Chi O house (which, I assume, prompted them to look at her facebook page...whatever). It is possible that the sorority house or sorority connections were used by some of the members for some low level drug operation.
It happens.

But, if you read the comments, some good points are brought up - the guy that was arrested with them was an independent, and the headline didn't say .... an independent. Other people were arrested along with these girls, including an alum today. Some others:
It just seems unnecessary to me. Is the fact that someone is a member of a sorority pivotal to this story in any way? Would you headline with "CHESS TEAM MEMBER SO AND SO"..
When is the last time the DTH wrote an article that said:
John and Jane Doe Get Arrested
Both are (insert race, ethnicity here)
Also, in reading the article, the only affiliation to the Chi Omega house is that one of the people arrested happens to live there, and the other one has her Chi O membership on facebook. What does that have to do with getting arrested for coke?
They were arrested at an off campus apartment, rented by an independent guy (there's more information in today's article about the alum, and it seems like they got the message about leaving the greek stuff out, because there's not a peep about greek affiliation)

More drama on the way me thinks. The article writer, Dean Drescher, is a Tri-Delt at UNC.

It is called connecting the dots.
If the common denominators across a couple of the arrestees is Chi O, then that's just a fact. Investigators may want to know how these suspects became part of the same "criminal network" and where their low level "operation" often took place. (Using weighty terms in quotations because this is a Daily Tarheel article from a student and not a police press release.)
If the common denominators across the nonGreeks included a particular neighborhood or a nonGLO organization, then that may be mentioned for the same reasons.
I think that Greeks take Greekdom way too seriously sometimes. In doing so, they assume that people are out to get them in a way that other organizations and businesses aren't put under the radar from time to time. Chi O will most likely not be hurt nationally or locally by the affiliation of these women, unless Greeks insist on protesting too much over the mere mention of a GLO. Gasp.

You clearly don't watch the news or read the newspaper.

I think you're right. As much as I hate these kinds of headlines, sometimes they're somewhat deserving to be there.

Dean is female? I just assumed "Dean" was a male's name. (Then again, names can be misleading... among my friends are a female Frankie and a male Kelly. And don't get me started on all the male and female Camerons.)

To be fair, srmom didn't make that comment. That was one of the comments that followed the article in the link.

I am not exactly sure but I believe that "Dean" may be the title as in "Dean of Students", etc. We may then refer upon them the title Dean so and so.

These girls were just being super rad.
Let them go, they're cute.

Nope. Dean is her name and she is a Tri-Delta.

As much as I hate to say this - when you break the law pretty much anything can and will come out. It just has all become fair game like it or not.
These young ladies should have thought about things a bit more.
I don't really think it matters if the writer is a Tri Delta or not. Facts are that these members are part of this organization and whether I think it should be written or not does not matter. They are facts and it becomes fair game these days.

I stand corrected. Thank you.
Wouldn't want to be standing between these 2 houses as they are very close in proximity. Yikes is right.
