The campus undergraduate leaders of Sigma Pi have been removed from their positions, all official campus activities have been halted and the fraternity has been placed in an alumni trusteeship, according to a press release from the Sigma Pi Fraternity Executive Office.
The decision comes after talks with alumni and the Grand Council of Sigma Pi Fraternity, International, according to the release.
It was decided further action was needed after two chapter reviews, expulsions and a discussion about following the IU Student Code of Rights, Responsibilities and Conducts, Sigma Pi Fraternity International Bylaws and FIPG policies, . . . .
The alumni . . . are finalizing a roster of men who will be given the opportunity to rejoin as active members.
Some will not be allowed to rejoin, but will be allowed to resign their membership or apply for alumni status. . . .
