As a big sister to 3 lil sisters, I had to be crafty to afford their gifts! Buying pre-made sorority merchandise was usually way too expensive, so I had to look for other alternatives. The local dollar store was great for that - I found pink and green (DZ colors) tupperware, cups, picture frames, etc., and decorated them with paint pens. I went to Walmart for a corkboard which I decorated with ribbons (hot glue guns are cheap) and paint pens. Another relatively inexpensive idea is to buy plain envelopes and stationery, a stamp with your sorority's flower or mascot, and a stamp pad in various colors. You can decorate the stationery, and still have plenty of ink left over for another time. (That's the great thing about craft materials like paint pens and stamp pads - you pay for them once and then use them over and over.) Anyway, that's just a few of the things I've made. I hope this helps you. I'd love to hear what you give your little sister!
