Cops tell us DJ AM -- also known as Adam Goldstein -- was found dead this afternoon in New York City.

I was my understanding that he was a recovering alcoholic. It's not uncommon for them to have relapses, especially with drugs.

This is sad, especially in light of his obvious guilt over surviving the plane crash.

True...plus he lived through a pretty traumatic event, which probably didn't help. I give a lot of credit to people who recover and are able to avoid relapses, it can't be easy.

So sad. Perez Hilton told me (aka I stalked his Twitter) that DJ AM did an Intervention type show recently, but it has yet to air. Now, more than ever, they should air it
