SHOES!
First off, I promised I searched, but the results weren't that helpful. (And, hopefully this thread benefits all pnms...)
I know that for the first (and second) day of parties, you need comfortable shoes because of all the walking. The problem is I have a rare shoe size and finding good fitting dress shoes is very, very difficult for me. I always wear flip-flops, but I also know that this is looked down upon during formal recruitment. Does anyone have any suggestions or amazingly comfortable shoe recommendations?
Kinda awkward topic, but I'd appreciate your help.

If you have time, you can special order some.
I know that alot of stores and brands carry special sizes online.

Zappos lets you search for shoes by size and style. I've had good luck there.

Does your recruitment provide t-shirts or do they give you clothing suggestions for each round?
If you are given t-shirts to wear with shorts...then flip flops could be okay provided they are new or in excellent shape along with a nice pedicure. But you will still need a pair of dress shoes for pref parties.
Ditto on the Zappos suggestion. I shop there a ton and they have excellent customer service, free shipping, and free returns. Plus, no tax!!

www.nordstrom.com
Great selection, return policy, and there are some good sales. I've known people who have two different sized feet being sold two different shoes there in the past as their service is just that good. Also go to their retail sale store, Nordstrom Rack. I've seen up to size 14 and various widths there for women, and it is good stuff.
Also, I know some people with larger feet (size 12 and up) who have gotten by with shoes from Payless but they say it is hit or miss, but good if you need something for a costume, event, or just a season.

http://www.brucettes.com/
Very nice selection, good sales from time to time, really damn helpful sales staff. Sizes 4-14 in various widths and narrows.
There are admittedly some higher-priced shoes there, but they carry the kind of shoes that will wear well and stay nice for a long time, you know? You hear about "investing" in a good black suit or nice pair of penny loafers- you'll get the penny loafers at Brucettes.

I really like www.shopstyle.com it lets you sort by size, color, and type so you can find specifically what you're looking for.
