leadership consultants?
I am going into my senior year and I have been thinking about what direction to go in after graduation. One of the things that I was thinking about doing was applying to be an ADPi Leadership Consultant. I emailed the lady that is in charge of applications for this upcoming year and she replied very promptly, which I am very thankful for. I was wondering if anyone on here has served as a Leadership Consultant before or know sisters who have done so?
I tried to do a search for it but nothing substantial came up besides the mention of the term itself. I dont remember exactly where I read this, or if this even pertains to Alpha Delta Pi, but I read someplace that certain organizations only accept applications for sisters who have had extremely high leadership positions in the chapter, namely serving as President. Although I am not the president of my chapter, I have been VERY involved on campus and in my chapter since my freshman year. I have served as a New Student Orientation Leader, was a member of Freshman Programs, have served as a campus tour guide, been the ASI (Student Government) Elections Commissioner, served on the ASI Board of Directors (of which I am currently the Chair), served as an ex-officio member of the Board for my academic department. I will also be sitting on the Academic Senate with faculty members this year as well as serve on the 4-5 committees for ASI. I was on Panhellenic for 1.5 years, have been a rho chi in the past, and am in Order of Omega. I have also been on the Deans List a few semesters. My GPA has ALWAYS been above a 3.0. Within my chapter I am currently the philanthropy chair, am a day chair for recruitment, and am designing a potential website. In the summer after graduation I am hoping to intern in DC.
soo you see i am VERY involved, just not at a Presidential level! Can any of you give me some words of advise or even simply stories you have heard, or update me on the actual process? This is something that I am seriously considering, because I hope to go to grad school for Higher Education Leadership or Student Affairs, and I think that the Leadership Consultant position will be a very good way to stay involved with Alpha Delta Pi and gain world experience at the same time. Any advise?
(sorry for the novel!)
