Two weeks from this day, the Sims 3 will be released. Although there are some leaks of the Beta Version available for download, I am on edge about it. I have given up my Sims 2 to prepare for the Sims 3.
Anyone jumping on the bandwagon ?

The parts for my rig are being shipped as we speak. My old setup is about five years old and would not be able to handle it. I'm using the excuse "I need to use E-views every semester" for my reason behind building a new pc!
Do you think they will have an option to not let everything continue in the background? I still don't like the idea of everyone else growing old without me controlling it.

I'm on a Macbook, which uses an integrated graphics card. Sims 2 did not run on my setup because of this. I just looked up the specs, and while it may run a bit slower on my computer because I just meet the minimum specs, I do meet them. Now I just have to wait for the Mac port to come out.
Wooot! I have an HP laptop, and always updating! I have all the right specs... but I need to look into a video card.. my comp doesnt have one it says... sketchy

If I recall correctly, I think I had Sims 2 before all the expansion packs came out. Did they grow old in the background w/o you being able to control that?
