Post Greeks Urban Legends

I've herd of many greek urban legends. Among them about the ritual being kept in the library of congress and how some prominent permenantly borrowed it from the library. Let's here some others out there.

Another one, I forgot which school or what org. There was a ghost of a pledge that died while back. His ghost haunt the house till finally the fraternity initiated him post-hum. Then all the haunting end. Creepy.

The Library of Congress finally came up with a reply after getting lots of inquiries:
"At the behest of a number of Greeks, I recently contacted the Library of Congress about the "secret ritual" issue. When I got through to general information they routed me to the reading room, where a kind lady cut me off before I could even finish my question, "...I already know what you're going to ask. It's not true. It's just a myth. We get this a lot."
She kindly agreed to send me a form letter that they send to everyone who writes in (or comes in) wanting to know where they can find all the fraternity rituals (except theirs of course). What they sent me was a very politely worded response indicating that they don't have secret college rituals in their collection"

....you can see it here: http://sac.uky.edu/~elrous0/loc-off.htm
and also the "scanned in" letter is here: http://sac.uky.edu/~elrous0/loc.gif

Enjoy!

I don't really know how much I believe what I'm about to write, but it's interesting none-the-less!
In high school I was friends with a pair of twins whose older sisters were once Chi Omegas at a nearby university.
They told me that when one of their sisters was living in the house, her and her roommate experienced some "paranormal activity". Supposidly, some girl who had once lived in the exact room as them died in like an accident or something. The twins told me that their sister and her roommate had weird incidents like one night they were sleeping and the television turned on. They thought it was a glitch or something and so they unplugged it. And then the following night it turned on again, but it was still unplugged Yeah I know...cheesy, corny, don't believe it!
That's the only Greek Urban Legend I know LOL!

What do you get when you cross and Alpha Omicron Pi and a Sigma Phi Epsilon? A beautiful Chi Omega!!!

Red face

Hey guys...

Hootie, my story is similar. I'm a Sigma Kappa at the University of Arizona. Our house use to be a Delta Zeta house. They left campus in 1978 (I think...since we came to campus in 1979). I'm not sure why they left campus, but supposedly a Delta Zeta member was killed when she was hit by a car on a busy, nearby road. Well, you can only imagine some of the stories that have come to life as a result of this incident. Even now, one of my sisters tells of weird occurences through out the house. She, and the rest of the house refer to her as Zeke (I don't know why). Personally, I have not experienced any paranormal activity, but it's interesting to listen to other people's stories.

I have heard the haunted house one! When I was traveling, it seemed like every XO house had a resident ghost...and they all had names for them, too.
