Sorority Life at Kenyon
My (biological) little sister was just accepted to Kenyon and is very seriously considering going there. She definitely wants to go Greek, but knows very little about the system.
From what I've gleaned from the Kenyon website, the only sororities are four locals: Zeta Alpha Pi, Epsilon Delta Mu, Theta Delta Pi ("Thillia") and Nu Iota Alpha ("NIA", which is historically African-American). It also says that they occupy space in University housing and have deferred recruitment. Other than that, the website isn't terribly helpful. I also haven't found much on Kenyon's sororities through Google or GC. I emailed the "Greek Council" and they were very nice, but again just gave me very basic info.
So my question is, can anyone who knows the groups or has gone to school there tell me more about Greek Life at Kenyon, specifically in respect to the sororities? What are they like? (no, I'm not looking for reps!) What is the general attitude about Greeks? How is recruitment, and how competitive is it? I'm a little sad that if she chooses Kenyon she won't ever be my sorority sister, but I really want her to find a home with sorority women who will love her!

I think you should let your sister do her own leg work.
If she's truly interested, she will get the info

Several years ago, my daughter was considering Kenyon. I found this information on their website, but it is several years old, and I imagine things have changed:

I have a high school classmate who's in NIA, if you're interested I can facebook message her and see if she knows anything about the other sororities. Let me know.

If it's not too much trouble, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Look! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's just a new cross-bred species! Introducing the all new heli-sibling!

Wow, that's... clever. If you don't have anything helpful to say, why say anything at all?

Well fwappity fwap to you too. I think it's quite helpful to point out that your sister is capable of doing her own research and making her own decisions without your "help."
