China calls for new global currency (AP)

AP - China is calling for a new global currency to replace the dominant dollar, showing a growing assertiveness on revamping the world economy ahead of next week's London summit on the financial crisis.

Oh weird! You mean China wants to unpeg from the dollar now that they would get to dictate terms of the new currency? Surprise!

Well, since they own us, I'm sure they're thinking it's time to dictate policy.

They own most of the US, why not change the currency....?

I have an idea, why not go back to pre-Bretton Wood and have the gold as the world's currency.

So what happens with institutional reserves? Hoarding? Insane inflation that will occur immediately?
