teaming up with a fraternity for recruitment
Hey, this might be my first post (hi every one, sorry I haven't introduced myself earlier!) but I was curious if anyone has ever teamed up with a fraternity for rush/recruitment? For example wearing shirts that say "I love XYZ boys" and having them do something similar. I know they you cant wear another's letters but what if its written out (alpha instead of A) or it's a nickname?
How did you go about setting it up? How did it work? Would you do it again?

Question: Do you mean having men involved in YOUR recruitment events and PR? Or assisting a fraternity with it's recruitment efforts? I believe there are NPC policies against including men in sorority recruitment events and such.

Involving a fraternity in your sorority's recruitment is a definite no. It's one of the 3 "b's" that are a no-no to involve in or mention in recruitment - boys, booze, and bucks.
If they want you to help them to recruit, I think that's something that is decided on by your nationals and theirs.

In terms of an entire sorority chapter helping a fraternity with recruitment, I think that the guys can and should promote themselves, and not have an entire sorority doing PR for them.
A few isolated friends/girlfriends of members, sure. But not an entire chapter.

From a PR prospective, I wouldn’t recommend type casting your sorority and their apparent association with another organization. To attract more PNMs you’ll want to be more diverse with your themes and there are so many great ones out there that have absolutely nothing to do with boys. Save others organization letters for your mixer tees.

Per NPC unanimous agreements:
Each College Panhellenic shall prohibit the participation of men in membership recruitment and Bid Day activities.

I have seemed some individual members of sororities assisting fraternities in recruitment parties. I have also seemed these same women wearing shirts such as "I love XYZ Men". Usually the women who participate in these events are dating one of the frantieny men, but not always. One of my close friends and co-workers on campus was president of his franternity and I often helped them orgnaize and help at there events. It was an indiuvidual effort, not a group effort. As was already stated, NPC sororities cannot have men involved in recruitment.

So this sort of thing is allowed?
Could they do the same thing in return?
I'm just thinking about getting our name out there.

Sure, it's allowed but:
Wouldn't you rather promote yourselves rather than using a fraternity to get your name out there?
Involving a fraternity too much in your recruitment strategies is potentially counterproductive. You want to attract girls who are interested in YOU, not girls who want to hang around ___ fraternity and get an "I <3 _____ Men" tee shirts.
Just something to think about.

^^No, her question was, "Could they do the same thing in return?", which was clearly answered several times in posts above.

If the only way you can attract members is by wearing "I love XYZ fraternity" shirts, you need to turn in your charter.

Very true. I have known girls who are turned off by certain sororities simply because they are known to hang out with one fraternity all the time.
Maybe a potential member loves your chapter, but she also has a bad association with one of the fraternities, or one of it's members. Let's pretend her ex-boyfriend, with whom she had a particularly messy breakup, is a member. She attends your recruitment party, and half of the people there are brothers of that fraternity. Her ex is there. She might be inclined to walk back out the door. You might not associate with that fraternity 24/7. That might have been the first event that you've ever done together. But to that potential member, it might appear as if you'll constantly be hanging out with them.
Whether it's against the rules or not, I would strongly recommend not involving fraternities in any kind of recruitment activity.
