pleaded guilty to indecent assault by forcible compulsion before county Judge Edward E. Guido in a deal for a 3- to 6-month county prison term.

He had been scheduled for trial this month on charges including rape.

I'm constantly amazed at what people can get away with by simply pleading to a lesser charge without ever going to trial.

I hope he's at least forced to register as a sex offender.

I agree.

I often read stories like this in the newspaper, and the punishment ALWAYS seems to be fail to fit the crime. It seems as though because they saved some taxpayer money by not going to trial, they get awarded with a lesser sentence.
