To bucutie:
Yes, KA is a fraternity, I guess it's more common in the South, where I'm at. They are really big in most Southern schools like U of Texas. Their "official" name is Kappa Alpha Order. The Order part meaning (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that they began as an Order of Christian Knights. They are honorably know as Southern Gentlemen, and every KA I've met has been one! Old South is pretty much an organized road trip. All KA's and Southern Belles are invited (and the KA's dates if they choose). The guys charter buses and we spend the w/e in New Orleans. Our hotel bar is rented out Friday night and Sat. we all hit the town. To become a Southern Belle at my school, you have to participate as a "Rush Helper" for at least 2 semesters and the guys can then nominate you and you are voted in. We are like the sweethears of other chapters, but our initiation has to be uninanimous among the chapter's members.
To KA BillyMac:
Yes, my boyfriend of two years is a KA. Our Rose from this year is graduating in May and since I am graduating May 2002, I do hope to become Rose this fall!
